Finally, after so long, we have been blessed with more footage of the upcomingMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, continuing the wonderfully crafted universe created by Insomniac Games. And we didn’t simply get a glimpse of what will happen. We’ve got12 and half minutes glimpse, with scenes, new characters, and gameplay to make us want the game even more than we already wanted.

Since we’ve got a lot to see, we also got a lot of new information, and it is time to discuss it all.
10Kraven The Hunter
Many people had already spotted hints about the character during the first announcement, but now, he’s here in all his glory. Not onlyKravenhas a beautifully comic-accurate look, but he shows why he’ll be a significant threat to our Spider-Men.
Considering we already know Venom will show up, it’s hard to say if Kraven will be an initial villain or a menace throughout the game. But we see he has goons and even robot animals to help him, which will likely be our regular enemies, and control locations similar to the strongholds from the previous game.
9Symbiote Suit
What we were hoping to see, since Venom was already a sure thing, was Peter withthe Symbiote Suit. The suit looks amazing, but it also presents us with unique attacks and aggressive gameplay, where L1 controls moves with the suit. Will we lose these abilities when Eddie Brock, or perhaps another host, gets the Symbiote, though?
We see him punching people from afar, rolling toward enemies, and even grabbing and knocking multiple people down with a single move. Guessing from the HUD, Symbiote moves will probably have a cooldown on them.
8Switching Between Spiders
Spider-Man is now Spider-Men, and we’ll be able to play as both during the game. The new trailer shows how quickly you’re able to switch between them. While Peter now has the Symbiote as his unique abilities triggered with L1, Miles has his Bio-electricity abilities, meaning each Spider will have different special powers, while still having the same basics.

The Spider swap happened during the mission through plot reasons, meaning there will be missions where you’ll swap between them. But it seems likely be able to roam around the city with either when completing side objectives unless a side mission demands one of them in particular.
7Gliding
Traversing New York was already incredible, but it just got better. Aside from what we’ve already expected, we saw Miles using his webs to propel himself in the air with speed like a slingshot, which is excellent. Still, we also saw both Spider-Men using their wings from the suits featured in the comics, and even in more recent movies.
From what we see, you may go pretty far without losing altitude and traverse the map quickly. Switching between web-slinging and gliding looks like a fun way to get around.
6Stealth Mechanics
Stealth, though fun, was not the strongest suit in Spider-Man’s arsenal. Miles' solo adventure improved it a bit, thanks to his camouflage - and the fact you’re able to finish strongholds without having to fight - but things have taken a few steps further here.
Here, we see Miles creating web lines on whatever wall he aims at and even making a web line from another web line. He also shows that he can perform Perch Takedowns with two enemies at once, so we won’t have to wait for them to be further away from one another.
5The Lizard
The narrative we receive here is that Kraven is not hunting Spider-Man, but instead, Doctor Curt Connors, known as The Lizard, while Peter seeks him to save Harry from his sickness. Though we don’t get a good look at the Lizard, as he moves pretty fast in his appearances, we see that he’s big in this version and doesn’t seem to have human traits in his look, unlike other versions of the character.
We also get an almost horror vibe, with Miles finding skin he left behind - as lizards do - and later when he attacks Miles from the water as he flees with the help of Ganke. Taking him down will be quite the challenge.
4More Of New York City
While the first two games take place solely in Manhattan - which is a good choice for a game map since its boundaries are efficient for limiting the area - this time, we get a bit more of New York City to web-sling through.
How much of NYC we’re getting is still a mystery, but the gameplay shown takes place in Queens, the city’s largest borough.
3Chase Sequence
These sequences are familiar, as we’ve mastered a few of those in the previous games. But now, we take our fight to the water, where we chase Kraven while he chases the Lizard in the East River.

It works similarly to car chases from before, where you need to get close to the jet skis and kick its passengers out. Then we also have the aforementioned sequence where Miles is ‘surfing’ away from the Lizard.
2Peter’s Behavior
For those familiar with the suit, the Symbiote does more than give Peter a power boost. Throughout the gameplay, Peter doesn’t crack any of his signature jokes. Instead, he ferociously attacks his opponents, threatens them, and acts arrogant and menacing. Jameson will definitely have something to say about this.
Miles notices this behavior but doesn’t understand why, making us believe this isn’t that far into the game. There’s even quite a fun reaction of Miles seeing Peter save a civilian and tossing him aside to keep fighting.
1Characters' Easter Eggs
We have no idea whether these characters will appear or if they’re just Easter Eggs. Still, when one of Kraven’s goons suggests a new hunting ground, we see Kraven analyzing a map of New York with potential prey, and quite a few characters appear.
Aside from both Spider-Men and the Lizard, we see Black Cat, Prowler, Wraith - who is actuallyYuri Watanabe as a vigilante, at least in the comics - Tombstone, Doc-Ock, Electro, Kingpin, and Taskmaster.
