As someone who enjoys cooking, one of my greatest fears is that Gordon Ramsey will one day pop out of nowhere and remind me that thanks to my cooking skills I am, in fact, an idiot sandwich. Luckily, there are more than a few characters who are probably safe from the rowdy Ramsey treatment.

You already know a few characters who’d make great chefs. There’s just a little something different characters have about them that tells you they’d be right to become the next Salt Bae. So go ahead video game characters, put your arm in a weird position, and sprinkle that salt.

10Glados

You might be thinking that being a chef would be hard without arms or the ability to taste, butPortal’sGlados is more than capable of being a major pain in the butt without either, so I think she’ll be fine. As someone who’s worked with chefs, she’s got allthe classic quotesrequired to be one.

She’s not going to be sending pans flying across a kitchen during a tense rush, but she’ll be right there dropping the Gordon Ramsay levels of passive-aggressive comments. While she could definitely cook herself, she’d rather raise every cook around her to higher levels through her master chef commentary.

9Ignis Scientia

Final Fantasy 15’sIgnis would be a hilarious chef because he’d be making something as simple as grilled cheese, and there he’d be, taking absolute credit for how he has “Come up with a new recipe!” Final Fantasy 15’s hilarious nerdy chef would absolutely be THAT guy.

I’m not saying Ignis would be the most plagiaristic chef in history, but that’s not out of the realm of possibility. No other chefs could ever surpass him because no one else would be as bold as to make some toast and declare that they are the ones who came up with the recipe.

8Goro

You could probably giveMortal Kombat’sGoro a variety of tough jobs and the Shokan would thrive. Go make him an American Gladiator, and the show would be way more entertaining for it. Obviously, four arms are going to make Goro one of the most ideal chefs around.

Mortal Kombat X Goro

He’s not going to need to rely on someone else to help him when the man can be basting a perfectly cooked steak in butter while also preparing the finest tonkatsu you’ve ever seen. The only problem is, I’ve never actually seen Goro eat, so I’m not entirely sure he’d even know what tonkatsu is, something that is an absolute tragedy.

7Liara T’Soni

While she may not have had much knowledge of humans until Commander Shepard came around inMass Effect, I think it’s probably a safe bet that Liara would be one wicked cook. She’s quite possibly thebiggest nerd in the galaxy; she must have some knowledge of cooking.

Arguably, Liara could be the greatest chef in the galaxy. She’s probably capable of doing some Prothean cooking, although it might be a bit tough for her to get those ingredients. Worse comes to worst; she could just use her biotics on any unhappy taste testers, meaning anyone would be too afraid to say she’s not the best.

We all know that Link is capable of dropping the Master Sword and picking up the Master Spatula.Link had lost his memoriesin Breath Of The Wild, but you know what he didn’t lose? His immaculate cooking skills.

If most people came out of a coma with no memories, I have a feeling they wouldn’t be able to instantly make curry rice, but that’s just me. If things had gone a bit differently, Breath Of The Wild could have had a very different ending, leading to a world withoutTears Of The Kingdom.

5Geralt Of Rivia

The Witcher’sGeralt is capable of alchemy, so he should be able to work his way around a kitchen, right? He’s got to eat something at some point, and if he’s slaying monsters all day, odds are he’s figured out a way to turn a wyvern into one fantastic fantasy burger.

Between his signs and that growl of a voice, Geralt could probably just convince the food to prepare itself. If you’re suddenly picturing Geralt in place of Mickey Mouse from the movie Fantasia, you’re welcome.

4Arthur Morgan

I don’t know if you’re much of a cook or not, but please season your food; it’ll make it so much better. Do you know who knows to season their food?Red Dead Redemption 2’sGood ole cowboy, Arthur Morgan. He’s capable of seasoning and making some solid food that he hunted himself.

I think Arthur has to get extra points for being able to get his own meat to prepare, considering that’ll make the food that much more rewarding. Sure, an evil Arthur might have a group of people tied up while he eats in front of them, but I don’t think that’s a strike against his cooking skills.

3Kratos

If you could pick one character to perfectly match Gordon Ramsey’s energy and then stomp it until it submitted to him, you’d definitely pick Kratos. Withall of the dad energyhe’s radiating these days, the angry fella must be a solid cook.

I’d hate to be Atreus because that would make me Kratos’ little cooking apprentice or as someone far more knowledgable than I might say a sous-chef. If you thought Kratos was disappointed in the boy before, just wait till you see them in the kitchen inGod Of War3: Cooknarok.

2Lara Croft

Tomb Raider’sLara Croft has been in so many near-death situations that there’s no way she isn’t a whizz in the kitchen. She often has to survive on her own in the jungle, and as we all know, the key to surviving is always having enough snacks on-hand.

That’s without mentioning that she finds long-lost civilizations like it’s going out of style, so she’s probably got plenty of ancient recipes up her sleeves… Well, I guess she doesn’t have sleeves that often, does she? You get what I’m saying.

1Trevor Phillips

An oddball pick for sure, butGrand Theft Auto’sTrevor Phillips’ passion for depravity has to apply to a passion for food. He just strikes me as the kind of guy who makes up odd recipes and throws random things together, and somehow, it always turns out amazing.

He’s probably most comparable to the guy who decided to put lobster on grilled cheese. Why anyone would decide to do such a thing is a good question, but the person who did it first absolutely did the right thing for the world.
