A problem with the co-op in Redfall is the progress the host gains in their story, which their friends do not see in their respective campaigns. When you wrap up the campaign, you can jump into your friends' worlds to help them complete the story. As you may complete Achievements or do side quests, your friends may have the same goals. No matter what they want to do, you can help them achieve it. You can also just enjoy the town as you gather your pals to kill cultists and vampires.
Playing with others lets you see the synergy between the characters' powers. Jacob can go in stealthily, while Layla launches herself up to an advantage point to cover you with a sniper rifle.
