Yuma’s been here in Kanai Ward for a little bit now, and we’re starting to get a real feel forMaster Detective Archives: Rain Code’s dark and dreary atmosphere. This isn’t an easy place to live in, especially not when you’re Yuma Kokohead, a fellow who just can’t say no to the next mystery. Even when his boss told him to lay low. Even when that boss ordered him to get breakfast and come straight back.

Desuhiko Choice Chapter 2 Rain Code

Then again, we wouldn’t have much of a game otherwise. What’s this chapter’s setting? A school! You didn’t think we’d get through a mystery visual novel without at least one school, right? Onward!

A Silent Curtain Call, Part One: Jealousy

The first thing we suggest doing this chapter isspending your most recent bunch of Detective Points. You should be able to snagKeymeister 2at this point. It’s somewhat hefty on the equip side of the equation, but worth hooking up. The rest are up to you, but raisingVitalityis never a terrible idea.

Being tasked with cleaning up the house isn’t what we’d call dignifying, though you’ll learn some neat stuff along the way. When the chief sends you out on a shopping errand, just bring Yuma to the nearest meat bun stall. Following Shinigami afterward is simple, to be sure, butexpect a button prompt event shortly after you see the girl. There’ll bea second button prompta moment later.

Chapter 2 Desuhiko Yuma Gender Transformation rain Code

Several (clearly jealous) scenes later, the answer to Yuma’s little thought bubble isDesuhiko. After all, he’s a master of disguises! You’ll be transported to Ginma District. Here, talk to everyone, not just the women, as you may gain DP from them. We gained some DP from chatting with the girl standing in line at a food vendor.

It’s possible the girl only gave us DP because she’s female, but it’s worth a shot.

Outside theart gallerywhere one of the women advises you check, select the man in the red coat nearest to Yumato earn 20 DP. Desuhiko then joins, and exiting the area where the yellow objective is marked will teleport you back to Aetheria Academy. Heed the warning about requests! Your access to them is cut off fairly early into this chapter.

So, that happens. And then plenty more scenes ensue! It’s fun times, but you don’t need our guidance. Just enjoy.

A Silent Curtain Call, Part Two: Costume Party

Our first investigation scene of Chapter Two soon commences.Check every item at the wine table, and when you chat with Kurumi, select all four suspectsto earn full DP. We also need to poke around behind the stage for themisplaced script. After, go near thegreen staircaseto be taken up to the catwalk.

This next part has us answer Desuhiko on which of three students to disguise Yuma as, but in truth,we’ll want to swap between all threegetting information one at a time. Make sure to chat with the various NPCs as well; you never know when someone’ll toss a few extra DP your way.

Sword revealed in Rain Code

There’s something additional you’ll want to do when you’re disguised as Kurane. Getting into her room to gather evidence will requirespeaking with the costume staff girl. She’ll then pull Kurane out of the room she’s in, giving us access to it.

With all three disguises behind you, the game then asks whether Yuma should disguise himself as Martina, or the chubby Peacekeeper, or use Halara’s Forte. The correct response isHalara’s Forte. Our goal is to disguise as Martina, but Desuhiko’s too tired to tap into his own Forte again - you’ll see. You’ll get some Detective Points regardless, but this is the best outcome.

Chapter 2 Question Poison Rain Code

The Peacekeeper you’re searching for as Martinais outside the school and to the left. Chat him up. It’ll be a little while again before you get to more gameplay, but when you do…

Mystery Labyrinth, Part One: Howdunnit

As we’ve done with previous Rain Code chapter guides, we’ll cut the chaff on this most gameplay-intensive portion, skipping ahead to the answers and tactics necessary to pass with flying colors. Shall we begin, Master?

Reasoning Death Match #1

(As the tutorial notes, Rain Code’s introducing a new twist on these in the form ofRepel.)

Reasoning Death Match #2

This portion of the Chapter Two Mystery Labyrinth tasks us with choosing between three routes until all have been explored - much like Chapter One’s, except with doors instead of trees. Our order was"How was the poisoned glass chosen" -> “How was the poison mixed into the glass” -> “How was the poison brought to the theater hall.“Oh, and remember to pick ‘ZO*M’ at the end of each path!

“Who shuffled the glasses during the Duel of Poisoned Cups?”

Culprit wine glass choice Rain Code

“Who chose a glass first?”

“Which glass had the poison?”

How was the poison mixed in rain code

“Did Waruna know which glass had the poison?”

“Who made Karen pick the poisoned glass?”

Chapter 2 Rain Code Red Pink Room

“When was the glass set on the stage?”

“When was the poison placed in the glass?”

Chapter Two Rain Code Different Perspective

Reasoning Death Match #4

The game technically treats all three (!) rounds of this one as Reasoning Death Matches 4, 5, and 6; we’re keeping it simple and giving you the answers them all at once.

“What was used to transport the poison?”

“What was the poison brushed onto?”

“What happened to the other glass?”

“Who could have brought the poison to the stage?”

“What was the glass put in to be transported?”

Reasoning Death Match #5

Mystery Labyrinth, Part Two: Whydunnit

We’re now past those three doors, and we’re headed for the showdown.

“Was Aiko’s death six months ago suicide or homicide?”

“Where was Aiko murdered?”

“What weapon was used to kill Aiko?”

“Who murdered Aiko?”

Question

God Shinigami Rush

Is this your favorite part? It might be our favorite part. It’s totally our favorite part.

“There’s no reason for us to team up!”

“There’s nothing connecting us!”

“We have nothing to do with each other!”

“There is… no bond between us!”

Correct Response:Group Photo

Chapter Zero had one killer. Chapter One had two. Chapter Three has three? Is there a pattern we should begin worrying about here? Wait, no, because Chapter Three technically had four killers,, thanks to Karen. Hey, why are we typing our stream-of-consciousness as the outro to a video game walkthrough article?
