The side quests inFinal Fantasy 16are very high-quality. Not only do they often provide great rewards in the form of equipment or Renown, but they tell wonderful stories that bring you so much closer to the cast and narrative that the game has to offer.

Dhalmekia, the third large area that you’ll get to explore in the game, is a huge desert. Filled with more settlements than any other area in the game, you can expect to be here quite a lot if you’re a completionist - there are many side quests to complete and many rewards to obtain.
Updated June 30, 2025: With this update, we have now covered every single side quest that there is in Dhalmekia. Go forth and conquer these quests!
Carving Out a Niche
Sava, Apprentice Smith
Speak to the Flesher and the Hunter in Dalimil, and then talk to Sava again. Head to the Watcher, the Fallen ruins in the middle of the Velkroy Desert, and speak to Sava there. Gather three chunks of Spring Lime just outside Dalimil to the south. Return to Sava.
Hot Water
Xaver, Bathhouse Owner
Head to the area of Fangsdrip in the Doeznov Terraces south of Dalimil and defeat all the Bath Bombs here. An Old Faithful bomb will spawn after beating the initial Bath Bombs. Return to Xaver afterward.
The Breath of the Inferno (Ignition), Scarletite x1
Use Your Loaf
Matej, Master Baker
Head to the north of the Jaw in Dhalmekia and find Dusan at the edge of a cliff. Choose any dialogue option, and then speak to Dusan in Dalimil again.
Get Cart
Jonasz, Sellsword
Investigate the cart in the next area after defeating the enemies.

Onward to Discovery
Jachym, Scholar
Leave Boklad to the south and defeat the Ne’erdowells there. Then, follow Jachym to the southwest and slay the Goblins there. Finally, head to Jachym’s final location in Laetny’s Cleft and fight the Wailing Echo there. It’s a Fallen Guadian-type enemy.
Live and Let Live
Kveta, Porter
Speak to the Refugee to the south of Kveta, then head to the marked quest location in the Steps of the Forgotten. Talk to the second Refugee here, and then investigate the marked cliff. Defeat the Goblin Prince. Return to Boklad and speak to Kveta.

Bearer of Good News
Ondrej, Tavernkeeper
Speak to the three prominent persons around Boklad and then return to Ondrej.
Bad Blood
Wounded Republican Soldier
Defeat the Akashic enemies in the nearby flood camp, and then speak to the Dying Republican Soldier further to the north.
Skin Trade
Karel, Tanner
Travel to the Fields of Corava to the east of the Jaw. Find the Dread Aevis and slay it. Return to Karel with the skin.
Examine the three stones around Tabor and return to Milos.
Trading Places
Eloise
Make for Kasklok, which is close to the Laetny’s Cleft Obelisk. Defeat the enemies in the Abandoned Fishing Village and then return to Eloise.
Lines in the Sand
L’ubor
Speak to Viktor at Dalimil’s east gate and then slay the bandits at the quest destination further to the east. After the cutscenes, speak to Konrad and Natalie in the tavern before reporting back to L’ubor.
Trading Places II
Theodore
Speak to Eloise nearby, and then travel all the way to the south toward the quest destination. Speak to Eloise. After the cutscene, travel to the Abandoned Fishing Village and follow the eastern path to find an aetherflood. Defeat the Akashic here, followed by Herensuge, an Akashic Dragon.
Duty Undying
Cyril
Head for Kretov, which is directly west of the Gilded Path Obelisk. Open the gate and slay the Fallen Echoes inside. These include Fool’s Gold, a Fallen Guardian-type. Return to Cyril in Tabor to complete the quest.
Lines in the Sand II
Speak to Konrad in the tavern and then Ferda in the north of Dalimil. After the cutscenes, head to the north of the Velkroy Desert to find an aetherflood with Akashic bandits inside to kill.
Duty Undying II
Travel to Waloed and head to the quest destination, the village of Mikkelburg. This is just to the north of the Edge of Infinity Obelisk. After the cutscene that plays when you enter the village, find and talk to the Third Chair at the back of town. Win the ensuing fight, and then return to Cyril to complete the quest.
