What Are Horse Competitions?
One of the easiest ways to make money on horses in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch,training and competing with your horsesis at the center of thehorse competitionsavailable in the expansion pack.
Withskill requirementsand fierce competition at each step, thefour different competitionsin the game each offercash prizes for placingin the contest, with first naturally taking home the biggest reward.
Not only will your household receive the simoleons promised, but each victory also comes with adecorative plaquethat you can eitherhang up at hometo commemorate the occasion, orsell for additional prize money.
Each Competition Checks At Least Two Skills, And Your Rider Level
Though each pairing is different depending on the competition you’re entering, thefour basic competitions all checktwo skills each.
We elaborate more on which in the tables below, but count ontwo skills per competition, even if you notice thatthe skills aren’t usually required to be the same level.
When you open the competition’s information screen, you’ll seeboth skills displayed in the Horse sectionof the screen. This allows you to see therequired level, yourhorse’s current level, and even acheckmark if they have a high enough skill levelto compete.
Additionally,your Horse Riding Skill level factors into your final result, with requirements for the rider in place as well.
In general,the higher each skill in relation to the requirement, the more likely it is that you’ll win.
All competitions past beginner level aregrayed out until you’ve competedin at least one horse competition at the beginner level.
Most Competitions Have The Same Prizes And Entry Fee
With exception to the Ultimate Horse Championship, thefour regular competitionsallcost the same to enter, and will reward you with thesame prizes for each levelof competition.

How To Enter A Competition
Toenter a competitionin The Sims 4 Horse Ranch, you’ll need to firsttravel to the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridgewith at leastone rider and one horsefrom your household.
Head to a nearby lot and redirect your Sim’s attention tothe Equestrian Center, which is the large building with the green roof in the center of New Appaloosa. Here, you canenter any competition(so long as you qualify) between the hours of7:00 AM until 7:00 PM each day.
There areno set dates for the horse competitionsin The Sims 4. To enter, simplyshow up to the Equestrian Centerand click"Enter Competition"at any point during that 12-hour time frame.
All competitions are available each day, so there’s no need to rush.
Every horse can only compete once per day, though, so plan accordingly if you’ve got one horse to enter into multiple competitions.
That said, you can alsobring more than one horseif you have them, andrace all your horses at onceon the same day while you’re already over at the Equestrian Center -youcan ride more than once a day, but your horses can’t.

You may find thateven over-qualified horses fall short of first sometimes, but don’t fret. If youplace in a competition, you’reeligible toenter the next level of that same competition,as soon as the following day.
Just be sure to train plenty between contests, though, as they only become more difficult as the competition level increases!
