What’s an arsenal, though, if they can’t be upgraded? Thanks to the Mechanicus' Omnissiah, you can find tokens scattered throughout the world that will make each of your weapons more powerful, respectively. While they may be off the beaten path, each is worth looking out for these machine spirit upgrades.
8Vengeance Launcher
A weapon rarely found across the galaxy. The Vengeance Launcher is a grenade launcher of sorts that only gets more volatile with its upgrade.
For the Launcher, the upgrade may not be too inventive, but it does pack a punch. Once you find the machine spirit upgrade, the explosive detonation will have a larger radius. This means not having to be as picky with your aim and the potential of catching more enemies with each explosive too. It may be a harder weapon to master, but its potential for crowd control is unmatched.
7Melta Gun
The Melta Gun makes a fool out of any heretic that thinks that they’re safe behind cover, its powerful beams lancing through all but the toughest materials. With its upgrade, you get more beams that emit from the weapon’s array.

This adds extra damage and a wider spread for more chances of hitting your targets. This makes the Melta Gun a solid contender for boss fights. The lack of plentiful amounts of ammo to supply the small magazine the weapon has is the only real drawback of the weapon at any stage.
6Plasma Gun
The Plasma Gun can be a double-edged sword for many of the people that employ it in the Emperor’s armies. However, with a little help from an upgrade, using it becomes much easier.
The upgrade does a few things at once. It increases your magazine size, makes the fire rate of the weapon increase, and removes the possibility of the Plasma Gun overheating and causing you damage. This is incredibly helpful, as you can use it more like an automatic weapon afterward with little worry about your character’s health or ammo requirements.
5Volkite Caliver
A high-tech weapon from the forges of Mars. It’s only fair that the tech-priests thought of a way to make one of their favorite weapons more deadly.
The continuous beam the weapon emits causes damage over time the longer it makes contact with the enemy. WIth the upgrade, the rate at which the weapon causes this damage is increased quite a bit. This means not having to use the weapon for as long to kill an enemy; saving you ammo, time, and potentially health as well.
4Grav Cannon
A deadly weapon that hurts the target the larger they are, by using gravity to pull their mass inward. It’s incredibly deadly to bosses and armored targets likechaos space marines.
This only becomes even more deadly as you upgrade the weapon with its machine spirit token. The radius of the weapon’s gravity well is increased significantly. While it doesn’t mean more damage like many of the other weapon upgrades, this is far from a pea shooter to being with, so it really isn’t losing out on much. The larger effect radius helps dealing with enemies while using this gun on the move.
3Shotgun
The Shotgun is one of the more simplistic weapons you can find in Boltgun, and across the 41st millennium as well. The Shotgun’s upgrade is similar to that of the Melta; it increases the amount of projectiles that are fired.

However, the amount that the shotgun increases is by quite a bit more. Plus, as an added bonus, the projectiles that don’t hit an enemy target will ricochet. This is incredibly deadly in enclosed spaces. Once you get good with this upgrade, you’ll be banking shots off walls like a master.
2Heavy Bolter
A weapon that is usually mounted on a tripod or vehicle. While a bit unwieldy, the Emperor’s finest can wield it by hand in times of need.
The machine spirit for this weapon removes the negative effect to your speed while firing the weapon. Whether you become used to the weapon or modify it to be lighter is unsure, but it’s best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. You’ll be running and gunning in no time once you find this weapon upgrade.
1Bolter
The Bolter is the weapon synonymous with the space marine factions. In many cases, it is the weapon that people first think of when they consider the Imperium Of Man.
It only seems fair that the titular weapon in the game has an upgrade that makes it far deadlier. This weapon’s upgrade does two things, both important. The first is it increases the amount of bolt shells the weapon holds in a magazine. Which means more firing and more dead enemies before you need to reload.
The second, is the strength of the weapon increases as well. This allows for more damage against tougher foes, and less time dealing with softer enemies. Which is a win-win.
