Characters
Gary and Nina
It feels a bit wrong to call this a “game,” but in Year Two, one of the most immediately noticeable changes is thatForgotten Valley has lost an iconic resident- Nina, the sweet elderly lady with the flower clothes and ladybug hat.
Gary has moved over toOceanview Hill, across from Vesta’s Farm, and Nina is buried out in front of the house. Most mornings from roughly6:45-8:00 AM, Gary will be outside, visiting her graveto start the day.
You’ll also need to be friends with Gary before he trusts you with such a precious task.
While Gary is at Nina’s grave, speak to him to begin the Grave Cleaning minigame.
You may need to talk to him a few times, but if Nina is gone, the minigame is available.
When the game begins, your farmer will automaticallymarch in a circlearound the grave with theirBrush, and you simplytap the buttonwhen prompted to scrub.
Youwon’t make it all the way the first time, so play the Grave Cleaning minigame a handful of times for a sweet Easter egg afterward.
Charlie or Cole
The firework manufacturing twins, Charlie and Cole, are both willing to play a minigame ofTerritorywith you once you’ve befriended them.
Both brothers will play Territory with you (after you’ve made friends with both brothers), but it’s important to note thatthey play at different skill levels.
Cole, the nicer of the two, iseasierto beat when playing Territory.Charlie, on the other hand, is said to be the local champion of the game, and his skills reflect it - he’stougherthan his brother.
Though the game is called Territory both times, playing each brother counts as its own separate minigame.
This means you’ll need toplay both CharlieandColein order to fully unlock your minigames Encyclopedia entry.
To play Territory, you and the twin you’re playing against willtake turns placing colored lineson a large board, placing one at a time and switching off.
Your goal overall is tocreate an entire triangle of your color lines, which will thenfill in, now officially"captured" territory.
you’re able to do thisone triangle at a time, or set up larger triangles and other shapes. Making larger outlineswill allow you tocapture the entire space once you’ve closed in the shape, so long as your line hasremained unbroken.
It can gettemptingto try toaim for big outlinesright away, but beware that Charlie and Cole are placing lines, too.
The bigger your outline, the easier it is for the Twins to interrupt it,with Charlie far more keen to do so than Cole.
The winner is decided based onwho has the most territorywhen all the triangles have been claimed.
If you notice yourself losing early, you canquit the gameby hitting the “back” option, but beware, if you’re tracking records, thatforfeiture counts as a loss.
