Baldur’s Gate 3makes no secret of its wonderful world-building, boasting all sorts of perilous locations and exciting secrets from the Forgotten Realms. Among these fascinating finds are the mysterious Soul Coins, five of which can be found in Act One—one in the Druid Grove, one in the Risen Road tollhouse, and three in the Overgrown Ruins dungeon.

Traditionally prized by the devils of the Faerûn have as a valuable currency of the Nine Hells, Soul Coins can also be used to power up Karlach, the Tiefling Barbarian companion. So, don’t hesitate to grab these enigmatic coins during your adventures—they’re sure to prove significant in the future.

Soul Coin 1: The Druid Grove
To find the first Soul Coin, head to the Druid Grove (X:220, Y:420) near theSilvanus' Grovewaypoint.
After helping the tieflings and adventurers repel the goblin assault, you’ll be able to enter the grove freely.
Once you enter the gates, immediatelyturn right, where you’ll come acrossa small log bridge. Cross it, thenhead southeast up a hill, following the path until you spotNadira, a tiefling woman keeping watch with her telescope.
She’s definitely not passing those Perception checks, though, because there’s abugbearstanding 10 feet behind her.
Once you get close enough, the bugbear willtry to kill her.Nadira will die quicklyto the bugbear’s heavy blows, soact quicklyto eliminate the threat. Speak to Nadiraafter saving her life.
Instead of being grateful, she’ll accuse you of attempting toextort her hard-earned Soul Coin. You, of course, have no clue what she’s talking about—but she doesn’t need to know that.
Pass a successfulDC 5 Deception (CHA)check, and she will eventuallyrelinquish the Soul Coin to you.
Do note that even if you get there too late andNadira has diedto the bugbear, herSoul Coin is not lost.You can just lift it off of her lifeless body.
Soul Coin 2: Dank Crypt (South)
The nexttwo Soul Coinscan both be found in theDank Crypt(X:-304, Y:-297)under theChapel Entrance, justnorthof where you’ll find yourself starting the game.
Once you’ve successfully gotten into theDank Crypt, you’ll be faced withtwo doors. Let’s start with thesouthern one(X:-294, Y:-310).
Inside, you’ll finda grand roomwith towering pillars anda central coffin. The Soul Coin here can be found in one of the smaller coffins to thesouthwest of the main coffin.
If you open themain coffin, you’ll finda magical spearandthe key to the northern door, butbe careful.Opening the coffin willunleash a deadly series of trapsthat’ll kill any unprepared adventurer.
If you’d prefer to avoid risking your neck,lockpickingorbreaking the door downare viable alternatives.
Soul Coin 3: Dank Crypt (North)
The third Soul Coin can be found in thenorthern chamberof theDank Crypt.
Instead, after entering the room, immediatelyhead left (west)intoa smaller room filled with coffins (X:-314, Y:-261).
Once inside,open the coffinlocated in thesouthwest corner of the room. Inside, you’ll find theSoul Coin.
Soul Coin 4: Dank Crypt (North)
The last Soul Coin of the Dank Crypt can be found in Wither’s sarcophagus.
Afterfighting off the Entombed Scribesin the north room of the Dank Crypt, andspeaking to Withers, open his sarcophagus to find the final Soul Coin of the dungeon.
Soul Coin 5: The Risen Road
This Soul Coin takes us to a slight change of scenery—theToll House (X:100, Y:552)on theRisen Road,to the northwest of the Emerald Grove
Deal with the “Paladins of Tyr” hiding out here as part of Karlach’s personal story, and find theSoul Coin on the balcony rooftopof the house.
