The Legendary weapons inDead Island 2are super rare and are only given as a reward for completing missions. Most are obtained by doing the side content, so you may completely miss out on some unique and fun weapons if you beeline for the main story only. You cannot get them as world drops from loot chests or slain zombies either, so you cannot miss any by accident.

Thankfully, the legendary weapons are all actually legendary. It strays from whatother looter shootersare doing. All of them have unique traits, different slots, and provide a lot of fun when used. It is tough to rank them all because each player has their own playstyle, so we opted to rank them by the fun factor. The splashier a weapon, the better it will be for the rating.
8Big Shot - Explode Everything
Big Shot is one of two ranged weapons in this list and is the most fun to use. It’s a staple of every Slayer’s arsenal, especially if you love one-shotting normal or slightly special zombies (the burning ones go down in one shot too). It’s a demolition weapon that shoots flairs/grenade hybrids.
Despite looking like a handgun, it takes shotgun ammo. Each shot explodes into a fireworks-like display and does a ton of damage. The Boomstick perk on the weapon is the star here, exploding each shot on impact and traumatizing zombies. The lesser the ammo in the gun, the more damage it’ll do.
7Emma’s Wrath - Swinging Hard
Want to swing a huge hammer and make zombies go flying? Emma’s Wrath is given to you at almost the end of the story. The hammer is seen being used by Sam B throughout the main campaign and has been his trusty sidekick. It is as deadly in your hands as it was in his.
The Superior Melee Impactor mod increases the physical damage the hammer does. Plus, the Overkill perk makes the hammer so fun to use. Perform a counter or skull stomp and the next hit from the hammer will also shoot a shotgun blast. The best part? It doesn’t consume any shotgun ammo either.
6Bodycount - Keep It High
If you wonder whether zombies bleed or not, then Bodycount will answer that question leaving no doubts. And the answer is, yes, zombies do bleed. Bodycount is the only legendary assault rifle in the game, and it comes with a superior puncturing mod.

The bullets themselves do plenty of damage, but the gun also inflicts bleed status. Shoot the zombie and the bleed effect can find its way to other zombies near your target. Each kill further increases your damage output making you a perfect ranged killing machine.Ranged weaponsare already overpowered in the game, so using Bodycount makes even the hardest of the zombies fall easily.
5Party Starter - Ignite Fun
Smash zombies and light a flame under them with the Party Starter. The knuckle duster has a beautiful design, with a tiny calendar placed inside your palm that makes it a fiery weapon. It comes with a Superior Melee Cremator mod that inflicts fire damage to zombies.
That’s not all though, the Spitting Fire perk makes your heavy attacks with the Party Starter ignite zombies and give you fire resistance. On the other hand, the Skilled perk gives you a damage boost and heavy attack charging speed whenever you kill a zombie. If you love being up close and personal with the zombies and BBQ, this is the legendary weapon made for you.
4Brutalizer - Maiming And Shaming
Brutalizer is made for maiming the arms and legs off of zombies. It’s a sharp weapon that comes with the Superior Melee Mutilator mod already installed. This increases your physical damage and applies the weakened status on repeated attacks on the same target. The weakening effect is further amplified with the Bloodlust perk that does more limb damage and weakens the victims.
With the effect being stackable and the Contagious perk spreading it to other zombies in the vicinity, you’ll be chopping off limbs left and right. Combine it with some great skill cards and you’ll be unstoppable.
3Karkatoa - The Flame Reaper
Karkatoa is another maiming weapon but this time it is a fiery axe. Chop off arms and legs to regain stamina and stay in the fray for longer. This legendary weapon comes with the Superior Melee Cremator mod that puts zombies on fire when struck. Once the zombies are nice and simmering on a bright flame, use the Reaper perk and heavy attacks to do even more damage. Plus, the Tear N’ Sear perk makes a pool of fire under a zombie if you slice their arms or legs off.

Karkatoa is great if you want to use heavy attacks to take down enemies and surround the battlefield on fire. Combine it withMolotov Cocktailand watch the world burn. Take care though, it can ignite you as well if you aren’t careful.
2The One - That Didn’t Get Away
The One Legendary weapon is beautiful and clean. Unlike other unique weapons on the list, it is purposely made and doesn’t look makeshift at all. It’s a sleek classical sword that reminds us of The Sword of Omens from ThunderCats.
It has the Superior Melee Mutator mod that provides a physical damage boost. The Swift Blow perk lets you charge heavy attacks faster. Plus, the Headhunter perk makes everything explode if you chop off a zombie’s head. And lastly, the Guardian perk gives you a moderate toughness boost so that you’re able to stay in the fight for longer.
1Blood Rage - Stabby McStabson
Blood Rage is made for rapid attacks in quick succession. It is a small dagger-like weapon that was wielded by Xian Mei in the first game. It is fast, and it is made to do critical damage, so it’s perfect for Slayers that specialize in critical damage and speed.
Blood Rage comes with the Superior Melee Punctuator Mod, which makes it a bleed-based weapon. The blade also has a Puncture Wound perk that increases critical damage with each critical hit you do. The Infectious mod makes the bleed effect spread to close-by zombies. Overall, if you love doing fast stabs, this weapon is made for you.
