This week, players will need to complete a Grandmaster Nightfall, play Competitive PvP, and clear a Legend Salvage run. While those challenges are much harder than what we’ve seen in previous weeks, the XP and Bright Dust payouts are far higher than usual. We’ll cover all six challenges added this week, their rewards, and how best to complete them.
Front Line Salvager VII
Front Line Salvager VII:Complete Salvage or Deep Dive activities while wearing Season of the Deep armor. Additionally, defeat bosses and minibosses anywhere in the system.
Reward
This challenge requires you tocomplete three Salvage or Deep Dive runs while wearing Season of the Deep armor. The NPA “Weir-Walker” Suit armor set is what you’ll need to equip for this challenge. If you don’t have the full set yet, you can claim each piece from your Season Pass or through the Sonar Station’s Focusing menu.
The second part of this challenge asks you tokill ten bosses or minibosses. This can be done anywhere in the system and doesn’t require you to wear seasonal armor. Once you’re done with the first objective, boot up a Grandmaster Nightfall or Gambit match to work on the boss kills.
Salvage Legend:Complete Salvage on Legend difficulty.
The Legend variant of Salvage is significantly harder than the standard variant, featuringno matchmaking, all Champion types, locked loadouts, and a base Power difficulty of 1,830.We highly recommend you configure your loadout around the present surges and Overcharge weapons. Matching the active surges and Overcharge will grant a 25% damage buff, offsetting the Power restriction. Any weapons buffed through your Artifact are also considered Overcharged and receive this damage bonus.

Salvaged Munitions:Defeat targets with Seasonal weapons. Defeated Guardians or combatants defeated in Salvage or Deep Dive activities grant additional progress.
Completing this challenge simply requires you todefeat 300 enemies with seasonal weapons, seasonal content and Guardians slain in PvP granting more progress.
For clarity, seasonal weapons refer to theTaken and Reckoning weaponsawarded from the Sonar Station and Deep-themed content.Any of these weapons will contribute towards this Seasonal Challenge. As for kills, we recommend farming Salvage to get this done quickly. Run a Legend variant if possible to complete “Salvage Legend” while working on this challenge.

Fleeting Glory
Fleeting Glory:Complete Crucible matches in the Competitive playlist. Earn bonus progress for wins.
Rewards
Complete eight Crucible matches in the Competitive playlistto finish this challenge. Competitive is a 3v3 playlist that features skill-based matchmaking, a unique ranking system, and more objective-oriented game types. If you’ve never played Competitive this season, your first few games will be placement matches, matching you against a wide range of skill levels.
Don’t let that deter you, as you only need tocompletematches for this challenge. Wins grant bonus progress, although you don’t need to win for challenge completion. Bring your favorite PvP loadout, stick with your team, and take breaks if needed.
High-Value Hunter
High-Value Hunter:Defeat powerful combatants in Gambit. Earn bonus progress for defeating high-value targets.
High-Value Hunter requires you todefeat 150 powerful combatants in Gambit.Powerful combatants include Blockers, Primeval Envoys, the Primeval itself, and HVTs that spawn periodically. High-value targets are worth bonus progress, but you’ll get the majority of your progress from defeating Blockers.Focus on killing Blockers and Envoys whenever possible, and you’ll have this challenge finished in a few games.
Grandmaster:Complete any Nightfall strike on Grandmaster.
Grandmaster is the highest difficulty for Nightfall strikes, featuring many Champions, locked loadouts, limited revives, and a -25 Power delta. The maximum effective power for a GM is 1,820.You can achieve this byreaching the Pinnacle capand leveling your Artifact to provide a +10 Power bonus, something that’s fairly easy to accomplish.
For tackling a GM, you’ll want touse Exotic Primaries or Bows, Machine Guns, and bring some sort of burst damage weapon.Survivability is also paramount since revives are limited. Spec for 100 Resilience and equip damage resistance mods on your chest to mitigate as much damage as possible. Finally, build around singes and Overchargeto buff your damage output. Any weapons or subclasses that align with the current singe receive a 25% damage bonus. Overcharge weapons—including guns buffed by the Artifact—also receive this bonus, although singes and Overcharge can’t stack.
Donotrun GM Battlegrounds, as these are substantially harder than a typical strike. Wait for the weekly Nightfall to be a strike before attempting this. You’ll also want to get a group together before attempting this. If your clan or friend group is inactive, you’re able to find like-minded players in theDestiny 2 LFG Discordor on the Bungie.net forums.
