After the longest wait betweenAssassin’s Creedgames since the series' induction,Assassin’s Creed Miragelaunches this October. Technically a prequel toValhallathat will detail Basim’s journey to becoming a member of the brotherhood, a number of new details about the next Assassin’s Creed game have been revealed this weekend, including the long-awaited return of a fan favorite feature, outfit dyes.

A number of developers who have been working on Mirage revealed a laundry list of new details about the game in the video below. Towards the end, artistic director Jean-Luc Sala reveals players will have a number of outfit options for Basim, the goal being thatUbisoftwants the character to feel personal to them.

Giving you various outfits to unlock only goes so far. That’s why dyes have been reintroduced. Absent from the series for well over a decade, dyes will allow you to alter the color schemes of certain outfits, letting you make them feel even more unique. Some of the options are briefly shown with a lot of dark, dusky colors to choose from, although it is noted not all of Mirage’s outfits can be dyed.

The video then quickly cuts to Basim strolling through Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed’s iconic red and white robes as well as a few other color combinations. Some of the outfits Basim will wear throughout Mirage as you progress are discussed a little earlier in the video, at which point concept artist Anika Mercier details his apprentice outfit and the red sash. Mercier confirms the sash you unlock and Basim ties around his arm is the very same one he is wearing in Valhalla.

An extended time between games, and Mirage being a far shorter game than Valhalla, appears to have allowed the team behind it to be a lot more thoughtful and creative in its approach. Also detailed in the video above is Basim’s new combat, built specifically for that character. It is also confirmed that despite being a prequel to Valhalla, new players will not feel lost if they haven’t played it or any other Assassin’s Creed games. There will be easter eggs from throughout the series for long-time fans to discover, though.

Assassin’s Creed players also appear to be pretty happy with confirmation that Mirage will be a story-driven game with linear progression. Set just 12 years before the events of Valhalla, so perhaps not as far back in time as some might have expected, you will control Basim as he becomes one of The Hidden Ones and is then tasked with tracking down the order in Baghdad, the backdrop for which was inspired by the very first Assassin’s Creed game.
