The launch ofBaldur’s Gate 3is almost here. Well, that actually depends on what you plan on playing Baldur’s Gate 3 on, actually, as well as when you’re reading this. The release date of the highly-anticipatedDungeons & DragonsRPG wasmoved up to August 3 to avoid clashing with Starfield’s arrival. However, if you want to play the nextBaldur’s GateonPS5, you’ll need to wait until September 5 because, well, PS5 owners won’t be playingStarfield. Unless they have another platform on which to play it, of course.

The good news for those of you who plan on plunging tens, if not hundreds of hours into the RPG is there are multiple versions available. Baldur’s Gate 3
WHERE TO PLAY
Just the game, but you do get a little something extra if you pre-order. Early access to the game, although I guess if you’re playing on PC, you’re sort of getting a month of early access already.
Additional Content
As always, there will likely be some of you reading this, perusing some of the stuff you get with other editions of the game, wondering why anyone would pay extra for them. Some people just want the game and if that’s the case, then the Standard Edition is for you. You quite literally get nothing but Baldur’s Gate 3 if you opt for this edition, regardless of the platform on which you plan to play it. you may technically still play the early access version of the game if you pre-order, butLarian Studiosrecommends you don’t and just wait for the full game at this point.
If the game alone isn’t enough, then its Deluxe Edition might be the way to go. The only problem is, it only appears to be available to PS5 players. Apologies to those who plan on playing on PC.
If you want a little more than the game alone, then the Digital Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 might well be the way to go. Only if you play on PS5 though as this version of the game appears to be exclusive to thePlayStationplatform. If it makes you feel betterPCplayers, note the 72 hours of early access that come with the Digital Deluxe Edition. You’ll technically be getting 34 days of it, and that’s to the entire game, not just act one. If you are holding out until September 6 and playing on PS5, an extra $10 will get you in three days early and grant you everything else listed above. Not a bad deal at all.
This is the big one. The one for the Baldur’s Gate fans who have felt every single day of the almost 23 years since the last game in the series. Yes, it costs a lot, but damn, do you get a lot for it.
Yes, Baldur’s Gate 3 has a Colletor’s Edition, yes, it looks a lot like most other video game Collector’s Editions and yes, it costs about the same as those other Collector’s Editions too. That might sound like I’m trying to be negative, but it’s actually quite the contrary. Collector’s Editions are a wonderful thing, and this one is no different. It might set you back $270, but you get a hell of a lot for your money. The customary Collector’s Edition statue, a cloth map of the world you’re about to explore, and a whole bunch of other must-have Baldur’s Gate 3 stuff for die-hard fans of the series. The only thing worth noting is the copy of the game you get is a digital one which might well rub some of you the wrong way considering the amount of money you’re potentially about to hand over.

How Long Will It Take To Beat Baldur’s Gate 3?
Another question without a definitive answer. The team behind Baldur’s Gate 3 has reportedly been clocking in at anywhere between 74 and 100 hours during their own playthroughs. However, with 174 hours of cutscenes to discover, some people will be spending a lot longer than that with the game.
Will Baldur’s Gate 3 Have Multiple Endings?
Larian hasn’t yet confirmed if Baldur’s Gate 3 will have multiple endings. However, since there were three different endings in Baldur’s Gate 2, multiple ways to reach the end of the next game in the series seems likely.
