It appears thatDragon Ball XenoVerse3 could be in development, as an email fromBandai Namcoshared by YouTuber Burcol specifically mentions “the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3”.
This might be hard to believe considering how often it receives DLC and updates, but Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 turns seven years old this year and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. In fact,Bandai Namco just revealed that XenoVerse 2 has now sold over 10 million units and has 1 million active monthly users, so it seems very unlikely that we’ll see support end while it’s still got such a large playerbase.

There is one thing that seems like it would slow down XenoVerse 2’s development, however - XenoVerse 3. For years now, Dragon Ball fans have been hoping for a XenoVerse 3 announcement, only to be met with more updates and DLC for XenoVerse 2, but it looks like we might finally be seeing something brand-new.
Dragon Ball YouTuber Burcol recently took to Twitter to point out that it’s been nine years since the announcement of the first Dragon Ball XenoVerse was leaked. He then mentioned that he has news on XenoVerse 3,which he shared in a separate YouTube video. The video shows Burcol reading an email that he received from Bandai Namco after submitting feedback regarding XenoVerse 2’s Awoken Skills.
The email then reads, “As the developers of the game, your understanding of the player community’s desires is crucial. Your efforts to engage with your viewers and gauge their interest in new transformations demonstrate a proactive approach to incorporating fan feedback. Considering the popularity of these forms among your viewers, it would be great to explore the possibility of incorporating them into future updates or the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.”
Although many of us have assumed that XenoVerse 3 is in development, Bandai Namco hasn’t officially announced it, which means that this email from Bandai Namco is either assuming that it’s being worked on or has accidentally revealed that it is. The email also mentions future updates for XenoVerse 2, so it seems that if itisbeing worked on then it isn’t coming anytime soon. It’s also possible that the email is confusingthe recent announcement of Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4for a new XenoVerse game.
Still, whether the email is confused about the existence of XenoVerse 3 or accidentally confirming it, it does indicate at the very least that Bandai Namco is aware of the desire for a third game. Let’s hope that we get some kind of confirmation in the near future.
