Remnant 2: A Gunslinger And Hunter Partnering Up

Bring A Friend If You Can

Remnant 2, just like the last one,can be played solo or with a squadof up to three in co-op. It’s not mandatory to bring a mate, but having an extra gun that can watch your back can make the difference. Plus, inco-op multiplayeryourfriends can revive you, though itcosts a Dragon Heart, it’s better than reloading to the last crystal checkpoint and starting over.

An extra selling point to pairing up with your pals is that it allows you tocover more ground, so you’ll hoover upextra loot fasterand have a higher chance of finding treasure you would normally miss. However, theenemy difficulty scalesto thestrongest member in the party, so make sure you’re all roughly around thesame level, otherwise, you could hit abrutal wall or a potential soft-locksituation.

Remnant 2: Hunter And Gunslinger Resting At A Crystal

You need tofinish the tutorial and introduction sequencefirst before you can access themultiplayer in Remnant 2.

Remember To Rest At Crystals

It may sound simple, but regularlyresting at crystals, especially if you’re clearing through an area quite quickly, isborderline mandatory. Even though these checkpoints dorepopulate the areaevery time you rest, it’s a minor inconvenience that’s pretty worthwhile.

Restingrefills your Dragon Hearts, and whilst your inventory will be heaving with healing items later on, early game it’s incredibly helpful. Plus itrestocks your ammo, which is always helpful when you’re deep into a level and are running low on abig heal or bullets. So when youactivate a new crystal, make sure to sit down for a second to restock, you never know when you might need it.

Remnant 2: A Hunter Using Melee Weapons On Monsters

Melee Is Useful Now

Melee attacks used to just get you in troublein the last Remnant game as it would lock you into theswinging animation in one fixed direction. So you’d often save it for when you were out of ammunition or weresurrounded by trash mobsthat could die in one hit.

Now thankfully melee is pretty useful and whilstnot recommendedon any enemy type that’scovered in a status effect, such as burning, it’s now a solid way to smack back any monsters that get too close. There’s arange of melee weaponsto use and like the guns, these weapons can be upgraded.

Remnant 2: Gunslinger And Hunter In An Alien Vault

Everyone Starts Somewhere Different

One feature of Remnant 2 that might catch out a lot of first-timers is thateach player starts in a completely random locationwhen they begin a new game and unlock the Hub. Because of theroguelike natureof the game, instead of everyone going through the same “starter world”, the type of planet you begin your quest on iscompletely up to chance.

For example, someone may have thePrometheus-like plains of N’Erud, or thetwisted trees of Yaesha. Why this is worth mentioning is that the difficulty curve, enemy types, and bosses aredrastically different. Sobe prepared for a challengewhen you begin the game and step up to that big red crystal.

Remnant 2: Brabus The Weapon Vendor And His Stock

If you’rehitting a wallin your current world, it’s recommended totry joining a multiplayer matchto level up thencome back later.

Revisit The Hub Often

A basic tip that beginners really need to drill into their heads whilst playing Remnant 2 is that you shouldtake every opportunity to revisit the Hubbetween checkpoints. The various worlds you’ll be visiting can absolutelydrown you in resourcesand crafting materials and those can be put towards somehelpful upgradesor newpowerful weapons from Brabus.

This is especially true after boss fights as they’ll often drop anextremely rare crafting partthat you can shove into your guns for new abilities. It’s also very easy togrind up what you needif you’re short, sonever feel badabout taking some time out of your adventures tovisit the NPCsback at the base.

Remnant 2: Ava And A Selection Of Craftable Mods

Don’t Underestimate Mods

If you haven’tattached a mod to your weapon, you’re going to be in for a bit of a tough time. There are some great modifications that can absolutelytrivialize some enemy typesand others, like ahealing projectile, that can take the strain off some of your more important resources.

You canpick up modifications from Avain the Hub, and it’s always worth checking out what’s new whenever you stop back as you may havecollected a crafting partthat she canturn into a new mod. As an added selling point, mods alsochange the cosmetic look of your weaponsand some of them can look very cool or downright bizarre. Which is alwaysfun to show offin co-op.

Remnant 2: Dragon Heart Healing In A Cutscene

Don’t Rely On The Dragon Heart

The Dragon Heart in Remnant 2 is essentially yourbig heal. Think of theEstus Flask from Dark Souls, you only have so many sips, it’s alittle pricey to upgradeand it can only be restocked at aCrystal Checkpoint. Plus the animation for using it is pretty slow and it’ll leave you vulnerable to cheap hits at the worst moments.

Whilst it is handy to have, there aremuch better options for healing. Bandages for exampleregen your health, can be bought pretty cheaply, and you canstack more of them in your hotbar. There are also mods andclasses like the Medicthat can heal. Sosave your Dragon Heartsfor when you need it, or if you’re playing in co-op,prioritize it for revivesinstead of healing as there’sno other way to pick up your palsif they get knocked out.

Certain Archetypes likethe Mediccanspeed up the animationsof the Dragon Heart or other Relic as they’repretty slow.

Customize Your Dragon Heart

On the topic of Dragon Hearts,Wally can also upgrade the number of chargesthe Heart holds. Youonly start with three, but for aLumenite Crystal, you can upgrade the charges by one and you’ll definitely need more the further you get into the game

It’s also worth paying a visit toDwell, the horned NPCover by the Crystal Checkpoint. As this cheeky chap can alsosell you some modifiers for your Dragon Heartif you have the crafting materials to make it, which is normallyRelic Dust. Though you can alsofind plenty of them in the wildif you’re strapped for resources.

Remnant 2: A Hunter And A Boss Fight Door Nearby

How To Spot A Boss Fight

It may seem like an overly simple tip that veteran players might not need, but you would be surprised how easy it is to stillblindly walk into a boss fightunprepared in Remnant 2. Thankfully they’re incredibly easy to spot as there’s aspecific layout to the levelthat the game places them in.

For example, if there’s asmall Crystal Checkpointand abig glowing forcefieldover a door, you’re in for aboss fight. They also like to place thesefar away from enemy spawns, so you don’t have to worry about being ambushed and can instead justthrow yourself at the bossover and over again. Or,take a trip back to the Hubto power up your gear andstock up on suppliesif it’s steamrolling you.

Remnant 2: A Character With A Secondary Archetype Equipped

Mostboss fights come with minions, so make sure towatch your backor have a party member thatfocuses on crowd control.

Multi-Class That Character

Finally, one last crucial piece of informationworth knowing going into Remnant 2 is that you really shouldequip a Secondary Archetype. These are essentiallymulti-class rolesthat unlock once youpower up your current character to level 10.

When that happens you canequip a Secondary Archetype by visiting Wallywhich basically gives you theabilities of another class, minus thePrime Perk bonus. So for example you couldmix the elemental buffs of the Alchemistwith the tanky Challenger. Or thehealing bursts of the Medicwith abullet-spewing Gunslinger. It’s a unique and incredibly useful mechanic that’s honestlymandatory if you plan on playing on the higher difficultysettings as it substantiallyboosts your strengthand usefulness in a fight.
