You can find Bluebirds inMartha’s Rest, among other locations early in the game, and Hyenas in Kritten Hollow nearRavenwitt Walls. Once you’ve cleared out the area, you can fast travel back to the Obelisk, and the monsters will respawn.
6Equip Accessories
As you defeat enemies, you should have theGolden Testamentequipped to maximize your rewards. According to its description, the Golden Testament increases Gil earned by 35%.
You can purchase the Golden Testament for 5,000 gil at Charon’s Toll. After you’ve invested in this accessory, you will multiply your earnings with no additional effort on your part.
Similarly, theCait Sith Charmincreases gil earned by 25%, but this bonus item only comes with apre-orderof FF16. If your priority is to collect gil, equip the Golden Testament, but if not, there are more powerful accessories to take up those limited gear slots.
5Sell Weapons, Armor, and Accessories
Weapons, Vambraces, and Belts sell for a decent amount of gil. You can craft equipment at the Blacksmith in Cid’s Hideaway by talking to Blackthorne.
Of the weapons that you can craft and sell, theDefenderand theRune Bladego for 2,500 and 2,000 gil, respectively. The BeltCircle of Heavenand VambraceSun Braceletssell for 2,250 and 2,350 gil.
You can alsosell accessories that you do not use. For example, the Will of Lighting sells for 6,000 gil, so if you do not use the Pile Drive ability, you can pawn off this accessory.
4Hunt Notorious Marks
The perhaps most ludicrous method to making money is by defeating notorious marks, the marked monsters causing havoc that you are tasked with hunting down. The Hunt Board became available during the Second Act of FF16, when you can hunt monsters, ranked from C to S.

Naturally, the higher the rank, the better the rewards for fulfilling the bounty request. The notorious markSvarogrewards the most at30,000 gil, but Atlas, Pandemonium, Gorgimera, and the Behemoth King come close with 20,000 gil.

3Sell Valuable Items
The one purpose of Valuables, expensive items that you pick up on your travels, is to exchange them for gil. Enemies dropBlack BloodandGoblin Coins, but you can also find them - along withGil Bugs- in treasure chests and as rewards for quests.
After emptying your inventory of all Valuables, you can selectively sell the crafting materials and Consumables that you’re sure you won’t use. But it might be safer to put those materials toward crafting weapons and armor that you can equip or sell later.
2Find One Man’s Treasure
One Man’s Treasureis a Valuable that sells for100,000 gil. To obtain this item, you must set out on atreasure hunt in the Great Southern Gateof the Kingdom of Waloed, where you will find a corpse in the northwest.
Right around there is a Treasure Map. It takes you to the chest holding One Man’s Treasure in Titan’s Wake in the Dhalmekian Republic.
According to the item’s description, the bundle contains the “spoils of a lifelong pursuit of fortune that ultimately ended in tragedy.”
1Complete Quests
As you go through themain story quests, you’re able to pick up money-makingside questsindicated by the green exclamation point. Side quests will sometimes but not always reward you with gil upfront and Valuables, such as Black Blood.
To name a few, the quest Duty Undying II rewards you with 1,500 gil upon completion, Under New Management with 1,500 gil, and Trading Places II with 1,500 gil. Side quests add to the story and offer collectibles and other rewards, too, but if nothing else,you will earn a bit of gil for finishing quests.
