There’s already a consensus in the gaming world thatDiablo 4is a satisfying experience, filled to the brim with everything that makes the ARPG genre just as fun and immersive as old times. That’s not to say the game is perfect.

There are a few flaws that players have noticed, and some of them are based on nostalgia for Diablo’s past or some of the features used by other titles in the same genre or category. Aside from the gameplay, there are also technical and even social details to consider, and even these small changes could take Diablo 4 from good to great.

10Add Professions

There are all kinds of materials that you can pick up in the wilderness that can be used for crafting, upgrading, and other improvements. This seems like useless busywork because you have to pay an NPC to do the crafting anyway.

This seems to put Diablo 4 at an uncomfortable halfway point where there are professions but the character pays an NPC to do the work. That might betoo much like real life, and Blizzard should either go all the way with this or not bother at all.

9Drop The Fetch Quests

What is this, World of Warcraft? Blizzard’s flagship MMO isn’t exactly perfect either, and a running joke are the fetch and collecting quests that players are stuck with when they play it.

Why bring this sort of thing into Diablo 4? Aren’t we some sort of supernatural being in pursuit of demons and angels? If we wanted to collect quillboar meat. we’d go back to the Barrens.

8Fix Inflation

It’s fun at first to have a few hundred thousand gold pieces in your inventory, but then it feels like an old-world currency without a decimal point concept. It seems like a lot but it isn’t, considering all the in-game expenses a character needs for basic expenses.

Knock a couple of paces off the end or use silver or copper for smaller denominations instead of making the amounts unrealistic and just plain silly.

7Give Players Keyboard Support

Unlike every other game in Diablo history, the latest title in the series doesn’t have WASD support. It’s also odd considering the long history it has of being a popular input method for every previous title.

This restricts PC users from using the left mouse button to move around the screen, which is awkward because this is also used for targeting and using the character’s primary offensive power.

6Add One More Class

This is a matter of opinion, and there were several games in the series that had as few as three classes. The only thing most people liked in Diablo 3, the Demon Hunter Class, is completely absent.

How can there be no Paladin, the classic holy fighter, in a world ravaged by demons? Credit where it’s due for adding the Druid but it seems like a tease compared to what’s missing.

5Fix The Camera

In a world of three-dimensional games that use the mobility of the camera as a selling point, isometric games are at a disadvantage. A few of them have mechanics allowing the player to turn the camera. Diablo, however, doesn’t have this.

The issues related to the lack of changing the POV wouldn’t be half as bad if we could pull back the camera at least twice as far.

4Fix The Servers

Please, we even had a Server Slam weekend when the devs put a sign on the game that said “Come at me.” Wasn’t that supposed to be the period when everyone was waiting in a queue, instead of now?

At first, during the Early Access period, it seemed to make a real difference, but as soon as everyone started paying the servers locked up again anyway.

3More Enemies Is Not More Better

Sometimes it is, but when you’re just walking between towns in the wilderness, wave after wave of enemies piling on isn’t exciting. This kind of mass killing is fun at first, of course, but it has a time and place.

Save it for the dungeons or meaningful fights. Wave after wave of enemies in some random field is boring and even annoying.

2Make The Bags Bigger

Inventory space is always a gripe that players have in video games, especially anything of the RPG variety that involves picking up a lot of junk in the wilderness.

That fills up bags fast, even when there are separate spaces for different categories. Another solution to this problem would be to stop dropping so much valuable junk, and more space to store it is something everyone can agree on.

1Develop An Offline Version

It’s partly nostalgia, but the fact is that the Diablo franchise hasalmost always been offline, with the more recent games being exceptions. The modern live-action service games all have real-money shops, and isn’t that what forcing Diablo 4 online is really about?

There are alsoplayers with internet connectivity issuesto consider. If an offline version was available for them, that would be great.
