The early access launch ofDiablo 4is finally here, yetPlayStationfans hoping to hop in for a game as soon as possible are having their evenings ruined. That’s because a lot of people are currently being hit with an Invalid License error screen upon booting up the game, stopping them from logging in and playing. The issue seems to be only affecting those trying to play on PlayStation, though it could be more widespread as more people attempt to play. Similarly, some PlayStation users are also getting error reports from the system itself, claiming their consoles are sending too many requests to Diablo 4’s servers. Those who were around for Diablo 3’s launch probably expected this, but it sucks to see a developer likeBlizzardill-prepared for a massive launch yet again.Related:Diablo 4 Faking Fan Questions Isn’t Doing The Game Any FavorsIn fact, the issue is so widespread that you only have to scroll down social media for a few seconds to find someone experiencing problems. Diablo 4 is currently trending on Twitter - which is to be expected cosnidering the size of the series - but not in the way that Blizzard was probably hoping for. You’ll find hundreds of people sharing screenshots of there problems, some choosing to poke fun with the odd meme, and others extremely angry that Blizzard couldn’t get the servers right even after charging people more for early access.
As for when we can expect this issue to be resolved, Diablo’s global community development director Adam Fletcher has let fans know that Blizzard is aware of the problem and that it is currently working on a solution. Fletcher also tells those experiencing problems to keep an eye onthe Blizzard forumsfor further updates. There’s no time frame on when the issue will be resolved, but Fletcher states that Blizzard will share an update “once we have more information”.
As many are also pointing out on social media, Blizzard was pretty confident thatDiablo 4’s servers would be “prepared” for launch traffic, though it now seems like that confidence was misplaced. Given that the developer is currently struggling to deal with Early Access launch traffic, it’s difficult to see Diablo 4’s proper launch going any smoother. Keep that in mind if you’re playing to jump into the game when it fully launches on June 6 next week.
