Dying Light 2is well over a year old at this point, but developerTechlandhas been sticking toits promise of five years of post-launch supportwith a range of exciting new updates and story expansions. In it’s latest efforts to provide players with even more stuff to do in the city of Villedor, Techland has announced that it will be teaming up withThe Walking Deadpublisher Skybound Entertainment for a “thrilling” crossover event presumably at some point later this year.

Announced via the official Dying Light 2 Twitter account, the crossover event will allow players to “survive, scavenge, and slay the undead like never before.” We don’t know much else about what this event will entail or what it might bring to Dying Light 2 in terms of new content, but we did get a snazzy piece of art that depicts the game’s world in The Walking Dead comic style. That’s all we’ve got to go on right now, but Techland also says that it’ll give us some more info soon.

If you’re looking for something to jump into right now, Techland just released a new Dying Light 2 update which drastically overhauls the game’s night mechanics and parkour system. The Good Night, Good Luck update has made it soexploring the streets at night is much scarierand more dangerous prospect, as you’ll find its now much darker and that Volatiles now freely roam the streets, hunting down those that dare to brave the streets of Villedor after the sun goes down.

If you’re waiting for something a little bit more substantial, Techland confirmed earlier this year that the game’s big new story expansionshould be with us before the end of 2023. It’s promising to be a pretty big one for longtime fans of the Dying Light series too, as game director Tymon Smektala teased that we may see some returning faces during the DLC, and that it will “provide answers to some of the big questions you have all been asking for”.

We don’t have a date for this expansion just yet, though I’m sure fans won’t mind waiting if we keep getting meaningful updates and fun little crossover events to tide them over. Here’s hoping that this Walking Dead crossover will provide us with some fun things to do while we wait.
