While the Exosuits are the main part of your build inExoprimal, the Rigs are what makes the build your own. Their main purpose is to add a tool to a class that normally doesn’t have it, be it mobility to tanks or damage to healers. Yet many players are double-dipping into the resources, especially when the team composition demands it.

Whether it’s getting propelled into the air or throwing massive shurikens, the choice of Rig will depend on the situation and personal preference. There are a few to choose from and much like the Exosuits, you can change them on the fly. Being aware of each choice is a must.

6Blade

The game’s mechanics can be hard to grasp withoutproper guidance, and among the Rigs the hardest to grasp has to be the Blade. With its size and shape, you’d expect it to either have good range and speed like a shuriken, or to have medium range and come back like a boomerang.

In reality, it only goes forward a short distance and emits electricity, stunning enemies not unlike the Witchdoctor. This ability makes it only a good choice to support melee Exosuits for an easy kill, however, the other Rigs help those suits way more.

5Drillfist

The main weakness of the Drillfist is the need to use it point-blank to your target; this is a game where having long range is everything. That doesn’t mean this Rig is useless, however, since careful planning and positioning can make for an explosive amount of damage.

The more you charge the Fist the longer it will Drill, meaning more damage to the target. The perfect moment to use it is when a big dino is stunned, or better yet when the enemy team is distracted and you go and destroy the cargo. While risky, this Rig can be deadly on the right hands.

4Aid

Playing support can be ademanding job, so having a Rig like Aid can help alleviate some pressure from whoever is playing that role. When using this Rig, you throw a small area that heals any allies standing in it, including yourself. Every single role can use this and reap the benefits.

Since the healing isn’t massive, the biggest use of the Rig is to heal yourself. Assaults and tanks use it for self-sustain whenever the healer isn’t available (or nobody picked one), while supporters tend to need it; their kits don’t have tools to heal themselves.

3Shield

Tanking isn’t about having most of the damage done to yourself, it’s about mitigating that damage as much as possible. This is why theTanks in Exoprimalnot only have huge healthpools, but also shields and barriers to avoid taking most of the incoming damage.

The Shield Rig can let anyone channel their inner tank and soak up a lot of damage in smart ways, which usually leads to victory. Even tanks like Murasame can get benefit from using this Rig, since they can alternate between the parry and the shield to be nearly unkillable.

2Cannon

The starting Rig is one of the best ones for a good reason: Sometimes all you really need is more damage. The Cannon fires a straight laser that can vaporize most swarming dinos, while having good enough range to let you participate in a skirmish from far away.

In essence, the Cannon is the answer for most weaknesses Exosuits have; Supporters need damage sources, and melee-only builds need the extra range. Even builds that normally wouldn’t need it tend to pick the Cannon, so they have something to do while waiting for cooldowns.

1Catapult

Despite what the name might imply, the Catapult is not a source of damage but of movement. You’re the one getting catapulted, and a fair distance away. This Rig is surprisingly easy to use, being able to decide which way you’re getting launched simply by pressing that direction. The launch is instant and a very useful way to get out of harm’s way.

The most obvious use of the Rig is for Exosuits that lack mobility. Roadblock, for example, almost needs this Rig if he wants to be present in every fight. Even Barrage can use it to get out after using his ultimate ability, improving his chances of survival. Yet even Zephyr can use it to be the master of movement and become impossible to catch.
