If you’re looking to upgrade a few of your Commander favorites or enjoy collecting unique cards, there’s a little bit for everyone in the Summer Super Drop. Some of the cards in these drops are worth picking up by value alone, while others might rise once the drop disappears.
The value of these Secret Lairs is taken from TCGplayer’s Market Value based on the regular,non-foil versionof the most recent printing of the card on July 09, 2025, and may change in value over time.
7More Adventures In Middle-earth - $0.32
The 1978 version of The Lord of the Rings was a massive undertaking in animation innovation and storytelling. Directed by Ralph Bakshi, the retelling of the fantasy series took a unique approach to the creation process, filing live-action actors and scenes and then traced and painted over it in a process called rotoscoping. Bakshi could create impressively complex scenes in real life and translate them to animation, including scenes involving thousands of characters on screen at a time.
Each of the cards picked for this Secret Lair depict artwork directly taken from the films, though the actual cards for this Secret Lair aren’t quite up to the usual power level that these reprints tend to have. The cards included are a mix of commons and uncommons, including Slip On the Ring, Gandalf, Friend of the Shire, Mirror of Galadriel, and Shire Terrace. While the artwork is a beautiful way to honor the historic film and would make a great addition to any Lord of the Rings fan’s collection, it does leave a little to be desired.
6The Stars Gaze Back - $9.92
One of the most distinct Secret Lairs seen, The Stars Gaze Back is an Elemental-themed drop with beautiful artwork from Yu Maeda. Maeda has been featured in galleries across the world, including the Superchief Gallery in both Los Angeles and New York, as well as the Fomo Gallery in Taipei, Taiwan.
Each card in this drop is an Elemental creature, with each one getting an alternate art for the first time. Risen Reef is a staple in any deck that can support it, burning through your deck when it or another Elemental creature comes into play under your control. The highlight of the set is Omnath, Locus of Rage, a powerful landfall creature that burns your opponents when your Elemental creatures die.
Quite possibly one of the funniest Secret Lair to have been released since the April Fools 2020 drop, the Bad to the Bones collection has a series of illustrations from Ryan Quickfall. This collection of an unfortunate and kinda rude skeleton attempting tricks and ruining people’s day.
One of the best parts of the Bad to the Bone Secret Lair is the union of artwork and flavor text. Bottomless Pit has the skeleton attempting to jump across a massive gorge, but falling to its doom, with the flavor text trailing off the card. Then Tinybones, Trinket Thief shows the little skeleton riding a Vespa, and even if it’s not cannon, it’s an amazing image.
4Death Is Temporary, Metal Is Forever - $19.01
Another Secret Lair that tells a story, the Death Is Temporary, Metal Is Forever collection has a ghoulish monochromatic style, with several brutal illustrations showing the downfall of Syr Konrad from Eldraine.
The first card of the journey shows Syr Konrad, cutting down the undead, seemingly depicted in Waste Not. But his time in this world is cut short by Nekusar, the Mindrazer, who captures Konrad and binds him to the Wheel of Misfortune. What happens to Syr Konrad from there is unknown, but if the art for Underworld Dreams is any indicator, he’s in for a hellish time.
3Artist Series: Ryan Alexander Lee - $24.21
Artist Ryan Alexander Lee first joined the Magic community when he illustrated 2014’s Sphinx’s Disciple back in Born of the Gods. Since then, Lee as gone on to work on more than 50 Magic cards before finally getting his own Artist Series.

The hero’s first fight is against the mind-breaking Nemesis of Reason. Gaea’s Blessing features the hero’s sacrifice, carving their own heart from their chest to give the dryads, followed by further sacrificing their sight on the card Twilight Prophet. The final challenge the hero faces is against the monstrous Worldspine Wurm.
2Goblin & Squabblin' - $32.88
Returning for another Secret Lair is Wizard of Barge and their delightfully whimsical art style. This Goblin-themed dropfeatures some of the best Goblins Magic has ever seen, perfect for a Commander deck that needs a little extra style.
Goblin Recruiter is a fantastic addition to the Drop, giving the card originally from the Visions set its first new artwork in years. The main draw of this Secret Lair is Muxus, Goblin Grandee, which grabs all the Goblins with mana value five or less from the top six cards of your library and puts them directly onto the battlefield.
1Featuring: The Mountain Goats - $50.00
Ten unique mountains, each one a continuation of a story from John Darnielle, novelist, actor, and musician behind the band The Mountain Goats. The mountains are numbered, guiding you on a journey across Lorwyn, which is the plane depicted in all the artworks. The value of this Secret Lair is a bit hard to gauge since basic lands are worth pennies, but previous Secret Lairs with basic lands seem to average at around five dollars per land. There are of course ones that are worth more, but they’re typically a bit more splashy than other similar lands.
Danielle had full creative control of the Secret Lair, picking the artists, creating the art direction, and writing a prophecy that spans the flavor text of each card. This Secret Lair also is the first time Magic has released an extended art basic land, making it a great collectible for all types of players.
