7Tube TV
Some of us are old enough to remember when you could still buy TVs like this, with the antennas and the wood panel finish. They’d sizzle with energy the moment you turned them on, and more often than not, required you to get up and walk over to them to change the channel or adjust the volume - and your channel options were limited to what was on the dial.
Still, the look of it can’t be denied, giving your basement a lost-in-time aesthetic. you may pair it with a less “cool” retro stereo, if you so choose. Your sims can party like it’s 1989.
6Repurposed Surfaces
They used to make things very sturdy back in the day, which goes for electronics as much as furniture. If you’ve ever seen an old radio - like a really old television - you’ll know they’re made of durable wood, polished to perfection. Or, perhaps your sims have an excess of chairs - you may always buy a stack of them shoved into a dark corner.
These old items serve valuable purposes for your sims as repurposed pieces of furniture. Sure, the TV doesn’t work anymore, and those chairs will never become undone, but you sims need places to put their thousands of glasses that they insist on carrying to the furthest sink from the kitchen.
5Stains Add Character
If you’ve ever thought that sims live too clean an existence (despite their penchant for kicking over their trashcans at every opportunity), then the Weary Wall Decal and the Unbeatable Stains can help you. The wall decal gives you a sense of wear and tear through a glimpse of exposed brick.
Meanwhile, the Unbeatable Stain is exactly what it sounds like - a massive stain that your sims will never be able to clean up. It creates the sense of damp darkness that the Basement Treasures kit aims for - pair it with one of theexposed pipes from the Industrial Loft kit, and you would have yourself an extremely dank basement. As a bonus, the decal and the stain cost zero simoleons - so you’re able to make as much of a mess as you want. But, hey, it’s all in the name of character.
4Boxed Up
Moving is so infuriatinglyeasy for your sims- either they sell all their possessions, which always sell at the original purchase price, or everything gets shoved into the household inventory for you to rearrange as you see fit. They don’t have to worry about the boxes of who-knows-what that will inevitably collect dust in the forgotten corners of their homes.

Until now, at least. Basement Treasures gives you sims plain cardboard boxes as clutter decor, and while they don’t exactly scream “aesthetic,” they create a sense of history and mobility. Everyone has a cardboard box tucked away somewhere; why shouldn’t your sims?
3Decorative Items
Other than clutter, Basement Treasures comes with framed photographs and a single plant that you can place anywhere. The photos are meant to be family ones - though who knows where they originate from. The swatches give you a few options for each photo and frame.
The plant is nondescript, but big. It’s meant to liven spaces up - jury is out on whether it does.
2Chic Clutter
If there’s something we, as fans of The Sims, can’t get enough of, it’s clutter. Sure, you can fill your sims’ homes with extravagant art pieces that cost thousands of simoleons, and while your sims may appreciate the environmental gains, it all feels a bit sterile and cold. The devs know this, so there have already been more than a few kits dedicated to everyday clutter. It adds a dimension of reality to your sims’ home, and the clutter of Basement Treasures is no different.
However, instead of a collection of everyday items, here you have the clutter of yesteryear - mementos of a time gone past. You can find old, corded phones, trophies that have long since lost their shine, milk crates of vinyl, and forgotten board games. Sometimes, you need a bit of sentimental clutter in your life.
