This kit brings in twenty-five new items into Create-a-Sim, all having a DIY, thrifted, hand-me-down feel that the grunge style calls for. There are the expected items, such as flannel shirts and chokers, but there are also some unexpected and exciting inclusions. As far as fitting in with the other packs in your game, the style is vaguely reminiscent of clothes found in theWerewolvesand Eco Lifestyle expansion packs.

6Accessories

There are six varied accessories included in the kit. First is a pair of blocky, color-tinted sunglasses with a diamond emblem on the side. There’s a hand-made looking chunky bracelet that comes in a few color swatches, as well as a layered necklace piece featuring a choker and a chain with a lock on it. There is also a key earring, and a new set of painted nails. Finally, there is a pair of bike shorts in various patterns that you’re able to place under bottoms.

All the accessories do a good job falling in theme, as they have a used and hastily put-together look to them, with little details such as a safety pin on the necklace and the nail polish being chipped. These details do a lot in terms of creating items that stand out compared to other packs and kits.

5Shoes

There are only two new shoes included in the pack. First is a pair of low-top skater-style shoes that have a slightly smudged-up appearance. It seems to be a Freezer Bunny branded shoe, as a set of ears pop up on the side. The second pair comes in a wide variety of colors and styles, some a little brighter than others.

These shoes offer a great new variety to those offered in-game, as most items in the Sims can start seeminga little too perfectto be realistic. Shoes never scuff, clothes are never torn - it is refreshing to have items in the pack that will look a little more well-loved on your Sims.

4Jackets

As far as outwear goes, there are two jackets and a hoodie included. The hoodie has some notebook-esc doodles on the front and the sleeves, as well as some uneven hoodie strings. Both jackets feature some classic flannel, with one option being layered beneath an acid-washed denim jacket to provide the quintessential grunge look.

The other flannel option is a little more unique, mixing together some modern styles with some DIY grunge influences. It’s a split-style flannel, with each side being a different plaid, layered over a graphic tee. It comes in a few different swatches - including some regular, non-split plaid ones - providing a new mix with each one.

3Bottoms

A good variety of bottoms are available in the pack. Going from longest to shortest, there is a pair of - you guessed it - plaid pants. They’re a more relaxed fit that better reflects a modern style, but still have that classic grunge plaid. There is also, strangely, a pair of pretty standard cargo shorts that lean more into the skater-style aspects of grunge.

For feminine frames, there are some colorful denim shorts that come with a chunky studded belt. For both masculine a feminine there is a pair of long ripped denim jeans with a studded belt. Many playersturn to custom contentfor more alternative styles that aren’t heavily featured in the game, making it a great turn for EA to include these styles themselves.

2Tops

There are a total of seven new tops included in the pack, and one full-body dress that will be lumped in with them here. There is a standard black crop top that pretty closely resembles one present already in the game, but this one has a more faded look and a raw hem. There is also a comfy sweater featuring a punk-ish graphic, as well as a basic worn-in tee with some Simlish brand logos.

There’s a classic skater look of a stylized tee layered over a white undershirt, and the dress is a pretty simple spaghetti-strapped dress layered over a tee shirt. Finally, there’s a fishnet-looking sweater, and as an homage to long-running jokes in the franchise is a tied t-shirt featuring swatches with a llama crossing sign.

1Tattoos

Perhaps one of the more exciting items included in this kit are the two new tattoos. Compared to other categories in CAS tattoos are often overlooked in many packs, but a grunge-themed kit necessitates their inclusion. One of the tattoos is some Simlish script on the forearm - perhaps the name of your Sim’s favorite grunge band?

The second tattoo reflects a trendy style in modern tattooing of collage-style tattoos. They also look like they are hand-poked; maybe they were done by your Sim’s friend in a basement at a house show. This kit offers a lot in terms of story-telling through unique clothes and accessories, allowing you to create Sims with some personality.
