If you playTakt Op Symphonyfor even a few minutes, you’ll get introduced to the turn-based combat system of the game. Unlike normal combat where you may just slash at an enemy until you defeat them, the turn-based system takes a lot more strategy in the skills you use and the characters you select.

You can have up to four characters in each battle while you can also go against a maximum of four enemies. Although, the enemies can have reinforcements whenever you defeat one of them while there’s no such option available for you.

How To Position Characters On The Battle

Whenever you get close to an enemy, a loading screen will appear that will take you to the battle. This battle alsostarts automatically when you ready up to spending your Stamina in the Commissioned Battles. At the start of each battle, the game allows you to see the enemy lineup and choose your characters.

This part is very important as you’re able to easily fail during the battle if you select the wrong characters or choose the wrong position for them. The characters are placed on the right side of your screen and they stand behind one another. This means that the character on the left will be the closest to the enemy while the one on the right will be the farthest.

If the enemy lineup has reinforcements, you’ll be able to see it on the top left side of the screenjust above the left-most enemy on the battlefield.

Firstly, you have to build multiple characters of different classes and typesso that you’re able to have variety on the battlefield. Once you know the enemy lineup, you can select your characters based on their position. For example, Bladers and Stalkers are the best class if the enemies are in the first two positions close to your characters.

On the other hand, you have to select Gunners and Magus if the enemies are in the two spots farther away from you. Sometimes, boss enemies will be spread across all four spots on the battle, and you can choose your best DPS characters in that situation since you’ll deal damage to the boss no matter where you hit.

Certain frontline enemies are shaped like doors. These enemieshardly take damage and can prevent damage for enemies behind them.

If you’re going against one of these enemies, you need Magus or Gunner characters that can go over the door and attack behind them.

Once you’ve selected the characters for your battle, the next step is to choose their positioning. As mentioned above, characters stand behind each other in battle, and this position isn’t just cosmetic. Just like characters with certain classes, some enemies can directly target the characters on your backline.

Moreover, Warden class Musicarts are the best for protecting your squishy characters as they take all the damage for them. Although, most Warden Musicarts can only take damage for the Musicarts in the two spots behind them. If you put the Warden character on the first slot to the left, it won’t tank for the last character to the right.

Here are a few general lineups you may try out in most battles:

Reason

Blade - Warden - DPS - DPS

Blade characters are much harder to kill, so you don’t need to protect them with Warden. This lineup lets you protect your squishy DPS characters, but you won’t be able to heal them up if the enemies deal a lot of damage.

Warden - DPS - DPS - Healer

This composition will also let you protect the two squishy DPS characters, but you have the option to heal your characters too, making your team more sustainable.

Warden - DPS - DPS - DPS

This team composition can be helpful if you know that theenemy doesn’t deal as much damage and you just want to defeat them as fast as possible. You’d want to use it when you’re fighting small enemies with a lot of reinforcements.

How To Use Your Ultimate

One of the features where Takt Op Symphony’s turn-based combat system differs from most turn-based games out there is the Ultimate usage. Usually, you’d gain Energy or points whenever you attack with a certain character, and you’d be able to use your Ultimate after gaining enough Energy.

On the other hand, all four characters on the battlefield can technically give you points that can be used to trigger the Ultimateon a particular character. During the battle, you’ll see three sets of bars with a different color each: Red, Green, and Blue. Each character gives you one or more of these bars whenever you use a Skill apart from the basic attack.

If you go into the Skill section of any character in the Musicart section, you’ll find the cost of their Ultimate (the top ability). Once you have the required colored bars for a character, you can trigger their Ultimate (Symphony) on the next turn. This gives you a ton of options:

One of the important things to remember when you’re trying to build these bars is thatyou don’t get them if your character has to change positions to perform the attack. Every character skill requires the character to be in a certain position(s). If they’re not in these positions, they’ll switch places with a Musicart to trigger the skill.

When this changeover happens, the skill will trigger and have its effect, but the bars won’t be added on top.

All Classes In Takt Op Symphony, Explained

Here are all the classes you may find assigned to the characters in Takt Op Symphony and what each class is best at:

Class Function

Warden

The Warden class has high defense and low attack, and their skillsusually consist of being able to shield your allies and debuff enemies. The debuff provided will decrease the enemy’s attack so they can’t hurt your allies as much most of the time.

Stalker

This is one of the DPS classes in the game, and it’s great attaking multiple turns on the enemy and dealing very high damage. This class can usually deal damage to all enemies no matter what spot they’re standing in on the battlefield.

Restorer

As the name suggests, this is the healer class of Takt Op Symphony. Theycan heal one or more characters and give them shields that last for a couple of turns. Restorers are quite important since all your characters can take a lot of damage in battle.

Gunner

This is a long-range DPS class that usuallydeals the most damage to the enemies in the two spots farthest away from your characters. You can still deal damage to nearby enemies, but it won’t be nearly as much.

Magus

Magus is the mage class that candeal high damage to both single and multiple enemies at the same time. They’re also known for debuffing the enemies and reducing their defense. These characters can remove enemy buffs as well.

Blader

Finally, this is the all-in-one class of Takt Op Symphony. They candeal heavy damage to single or multiple targets while also being able to tank a bunch of damage. You don’t need to protect this class with a Warden as they can also launch a counter when they’re attacked.
