Miles Morales is finally swinging intoFortnitewhen today’s update goes live, and he’s bringing something a lot of us have been waiting a long time for. His web shooters.Peter Parker’s Spider-Man introduced the mythic item to the game in 2021, and now that Fortnite is getting an all-new Spidey skin, the ability to swing around the map is coming back.Fortnite leakerHypexhas shared screenshots of Morales’s web shooters, and it’s possible depending on when you read this that they will already be available. Fortnite’s original web shooters had the rare honor of being an item pretty much everyone seemed to love. A far cry fromthe Shockwave Hammer that split Fortnite’s fan baseright down the middle last season.RELATED:When Will Fortnite Get The Respect It Deserves?In fact, the first time web shooters were added to Fortnite, a little earlier than anticipated, so many people logged in to check them out that the game’s servers couldn’t handle it and the Spidey gloves were removed an hour later. While there will undoubtedly be some players annoyed by a rival zipping off on a web at the first sign of trouble, there’s no denying how cool it feels to swing around the island like Peter Parker, and from today like Miles Morales too.
Spider-Manand his web shooters were first added to Fortnite around the same time asthe web-slinger was added to Marvel’s Avengers. Although unrelated in every way other than getting the sameMarvelhero at the same time, the fluidity with which Spider-Man’s shooters could be used in Fortnitecompared to how they felt in Avengersreally didn’t help the latter. The last sort of comparison it needed afterkeeping Spider-Man’s DLC from everyone not playing Avengers on PlayStation.
While web shooters returningafter more than a year awayis exciting news for Fortnite players,the biggest addition made via today’s update is ranked mode. Fortnite players will be able to toggle ranked on and off, moving their way through various levels from Bronze all the way up to Unreal. That has led to Trios being vaulted from the game, a sacrifice quite a few of you probably weren’t willing to make.
Fortnite’s new Miles skin will be joined by a Spider-Man 2099 one as the characters are added to the game in preparation for the release of Across The Spider-Verse. Their arrivals mark the start of what is going to be an exciting few months for Spidey fans. Fortnite today, Across The Spider-Verse next month, and then Spider-Man 2’s launch later this year, something we will hopefully hear more about duringthe rumored PlayStation Showcasecoming up.
