Watch the latest trailer for the Forza Motorsports reboot below, giving us a better look at the game ahead of its October release date.

This release date isn’t too surprising, given that we just heard thatForza Motorsport was in the “polishing phase” back in April. Hopefully, this means the last few months before launch can be used to polish the game even further, rather than see the team crunching hard to get everything up and running before the big day.

There’s a lot riding (pun ‘sorta intended) on Forza Motorsport’s success, given the rough year Xbox has had so far. 2023 was meant to make up for a 2022 showing that many found lacklustre, but so far, it’s been pretty hit-and-miss.Redfall, one of the most hyped releases of the year, crashed and burned right out of the gate. Not even the surprise hitHi-Fi Rushwas enough to cushion the blow. But with Forza Motorsport andStarfieldcoming towards the end of the year, Xbox still has time to turn things around.

However, even with these game releases in mind, Xbox was probably hoping to expand its library even further this year with itsActivision Blizzardacquisition. For a while, it looked like 2023 would be the year it gets made official, but conflict with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has complicated the matter. The CMA has blocked the merger out of fear that it could give Microsoft an unfair advantage in the cloud gaming space. Xbox hasthreatened to pull some of its business from the UKif the CMA keeps blocking the deal, but it remains to be seen if it’s actually willing to go this far. The company has appealed the decision in any case, so there’s plenty of time before measures that drastic will have to be considered.
