Playing a game is fine, but it’s hard for it to really make you feel like you’re Batman without a little extra something-something. That extra thing we all need is the perfect VR experience. We all know that VR can take a game from excellent to excellently hilarious due to all the unintended jank that can come with the shift in gameplay.

You probably wouldn’t mind being able to escape the world into your favorite game, but it seems like we’re still years off from something like that happening on a wide scale. Regardless, we need to be able to take control and experience the best of the best through our own eyes.

10Marvel’s Spider-Man

Say it with me, VR would really make you feel like you’reSpider-Man, motion sickness and all. Whether simply swinging around the city or taking down baddies with unique takedowns, every movement is just as likely as the last to make you throw up.

Now, you don’t need to have the internal struggle of whether or not Spider-Man totally just killed a dude instead of taking them down. That struggle is entirely yours now because you are the one who totally just kicked that dude into a wall and then threw him off a building.

9Mass Effect: Legendary Edition

You might be thinking that a VR experience would let you truly feel like you’re bonding with your crew, but in reality, we all just need this so we can experienceall that classic Commander Shepard energyourselves.Mass Effect’sawkward dancing suddenly isn’t so awkward when it’s our weird gyrations.

It’s not even about how awesome all the action would be either. We just need to be the vehicle for Commander Shepard’s hilarious lines. We might all think twice about slugging the reporter when we’re the one really in the driver’s seat… or maybe not. No one likes disingenuous assertions.

8God Of War

Who wouldn’t want a gruff dad simulator VR experience?God of Warmight have incredible combat, a compelling story, and some fun upgrades to experiment with, but who needs all of that when you’d be yelling at a child in the first person?

You can practice all that distant dad business in VR with a classic brooding dad hover-hand, and the classic overly raised voice you immediately regret. At least you’ve got some wicked combat to break up all the first-person dadding even if some of it does include ordering your child to actively get involved.

7Tears Of The Kingdom

Diving across the sky as Link sure does look like a lot of fun doesn’t it? That’s exactly why we need a VR version ofTears of the Kingdom, so we can experience the pants-wetting horror that is jumping off of a floating island and plummeting through the sky.

All the other exploration would be a ton of fun, but just imagine all the compilations of people being forced to dive off the islands in the early portion of the game. All the horrified people would be hilarious, and that’s without even mentioning the hilarious sights that would surely comefrom piloting Zonai devices.

6Bioshock Infinite

ThisBioshockgame is practically begging for an official VR version, especially considering some fans have put in the effort to do it themselves. We all need to be able to experience the sheer excellent confusion that is this game’s ending through our own eyes.

The developers would just have to be careful to not go too overboard with the haptic feedback. No one needs a revolutionary new water-spouting headset that will simulate drowning. The best part would be experiencing the game once again, still not knowing what’s going on as you dieas if you’ve never played it before.

5Shadow Of The Colossus

It might be one of the most jarring experiences possible in VR, but you can’t tell meShadow of the Colossuswouldn’t be awesome. Battling a bunch of giant creatures, climbing them, soaring through the sky — all of it would be fantastic.

You’d have to ignore the fact that now you yourself are putting in way too much effort to slaughter completely innocent giant creatures, but come on, VR. We’d never get past the first boss with the new playstyle but that’s okay because, as some might say, the game is art, man.

4Chrono Trigger

Everyone should want a new version ofChrono Trigger, regardless of the format. At this point, we’ve gone so long without a modern reimagining that it would probably be incredible to give this game a try in full 3D VR.

That’s really all I’m after here, a new version of Chrono Trigger. You want it, I want it, Akira Toriyama might want it. It just feels right. It might be weird to get obliterated by Lavos in the first person, but let’s not think too much about that part.

3Dark Souls

If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that everyone wants to get mind-splittingly angry in VR. If you thoughtDark Soulswas hard enough already, just wait until you have to play through the game in first person, where every roll is another chance to trigger motion sickness.

Every boss fight would probably be utterly terrifying in VR as well, making for an even more intense experience. VR probably would makegetting bodied by Ornstein and Smough for the 15th timea bit more bearable because, at least in VR, it makes sense that you didn’t see an attack coming.

2Mario Kart

I need to be able to throw a blue shell at a friend in the first place, only to drive past them absolutely staring them down as I go, and the only way to accomplish that exact thing is through VR. It might makeMario Karta bit more ruthless, but that’s a small price to pay for revenge and victory.

It might be nice to be able to experience the Mushroom Kingdom from a first-person perspective, but the real joy is always going to come from absolutely nailing a friend with the latest weapon you’ve picked up on your drive.

1The Witcher 3

I would love to seeThe Witcher 3in VR because I want to see how many people change their minds about the game. Instead ofone of the most compelling RPG experiencesin gaming, the game would be morphed into a pure horror game.

Seeing a werewolf suddenly sprinting at you would scare anyone enough to chuck the overpriced headset off their head. The character moments might be even sweeter in the first-person, but the rest of the game would be an utterly terrifying experience, and we all know it.
