Many events inWorld of Warcraftare inspired by our own real-world holidays. The Midsummer Fire Festival is a reference to the Summer Solstice, often referred to as Midsummer. The event beginsJune 21 and ends on July 5. During this time, you’re able to adventure across Azeroth and collect many items and achievements.

If you’re a collector or completionist, then you’re bound to enjoy this event. You’ll be tasked with visiting bonfires across all zones to collectBurning Blossoms. These can be traded in for cool rewards. There’s even a dungeon boss that needs subduing, transmog items to collect, and a cool title to show off.
What To Do During The Midsummer Fire Festival Event
The Midsummer Fire Festival mainly consists of traveling to every zone in the game andhonouring or extinguishing bonfires to earnBurning Blossoms.
These items work as a currency andcan be traded in for collectables. If you aren’t max level, you cangain the Ribbon Dance buffthat grants an additional ten percent of experience from killing monsters.
Head over tothe fire festival tents at any city or townand click the pole to begin spinning. After a minute, the buff will build up to a maximum duration that lasts one hour.
Then, you can begin hunting for creatures! There’s also a dungeon you can participate in for more rare rewards.
Midsummer Fire Festival Bonfire Locations
Here are the locations for every bonfire during the Midsummer Fire Festival.
We strongly advise that you download theaddon Candy Buckets. This adds icons to your map, showing you where the bonfires are. They will disappear as you collect them. Plus, this addon can be used for other holiday events too such as the Hallow’s End candy bucket hunt. It will make your collecting a lot easier!

Midsummer Fire Festival Dungeon
Use yourDungeon Finder toolto queue for the dungeon fight againstFrost Lord Ahune.This single boss dungeon is the same concept as the bosses during the Hallow’s End andLove Is In The Air holiday events.
You’ll enter theSlave Pens dungeonfrom The Burning Crusade expansion and be faced with the huge frost elemental.
You’ll need to kill a naga and activate a frost stone. Then, defeat waves ofAhunite Coldwavemobs.Don’t get too close to Ahuneor you’ll quickly receive too much damage!
Ahune’sFrozen Corethen becomes targetable so attempt to destroy it as quickly as possible. If you don’t, Ahune returns and you’ll need to repeat the process.
you’re able to earn aSatchel of Chilled Goodsfrom defeating him once a day. These containBurning Blossomsand a chance at a rare item.
Frostscythe of Lord Ahune
Ice Chip (Teaches you the battle pet: Frigid Frostling)
You’ll also receive theIce the Frost Lordachievement. If you’ve never defeated Ahune before, you’ll also receiveShards of Ahune. This item begins a quest which you hand in to a Tauren,Luma Skymother, inside the dungeon. She will give you the option to select aTabard of Summer SkiesorTabard of Summer Flames. You’ll also receive20 Burning Blossoms.
Delete your chosen tabard and then speak to aTabard Vendor(found beside guild masters and vendors) in any main city. Select the option for the tabard you have not yet collected:‘I’ve lost my tabard of…’This allows you to collect the other tabard appearance on the same character, without having to do the quest on two.

Completing quests and dailies is one of the best ways to stock up onBurning Blossoms.If you plan on collecting as many as possible, verify you complete all the following quests!

Fire Eatersoutside main cities will give this quest. Speak to theMaster Fire Eaterfound within the main city bonfire camps.

Honour the Flame
Speak to aFlame Warden / Flame Keeperat each friendly bonfire camp.
Locate the bonfires of the enemy faction and extinguish them.
Ten
Stealing (horde / alliance capital)’s Flame
you may completefourof these quests by extinguishing the bonfire in each of the four enemy faction’s main cities.
25 Burning Blossoms and a choice between six consumable food items
A Thief’s Reward
Visit each of the enemy faction’s main cities and steal the flame from their bonfire. You’ll receive this quest after completing each of the four quests.
Crown of the Fire Festival(cosmetic head piece)
Incense for the Festival / Summer Scorchlings
Speak to aFestival Loremaster / Talespinner.Take the incense to theScorchlingNPC found at the camps outside of main cities.
Torch Tossing
Quest starts at theMaster Fire Eater. Stand by the bonfire and throw torches at thebraziersthat have a red arrow above them. To keep track of your torch tossing, you’ll have a buff:Braziers Hit!
Five
Torch Catching
TheMaster Fire Eatergives you torches to throw. Follow the shadow on the ground and make sure you are on the shadow as the torch lands. You’ll then throw the torch again and must repeat the process. To keep track of your torch catching, you’ll have a buff:Torches Caught.Completing this quest andTorch Tossingunlocks two daily quests:More Torch TossingandMore Torch Catching.

This is a daily quest and can be repeated.

After defeating the dungeon bossAhunefor the first time, you’ll receive the itemShards of Ahuneto hand in to an NPC in the dungeon,Luma Skymother.
20 Burning Blossoms and the choice between the Tabard of Summer Skies or the Tabard of Summer Flames.
Earthern Ring / Twilight Hammer Questchain
Unusual Activity
Speak with anEarthern Ring Elderfound near the camp. Go to the specified location, use the totem and defeat aTwilight sorcerer.
An Innocent Disguise
Turn yourself into a crab and go to eavesdrop on the cultists.
Inform The Elder
Return to theEarthern Ring Elder. Completing this questline unlocks the six daily quests:Striking Back.
Gold
Striking Back
These six daily quests require you to slay an enemy NPC in six different locations.

Achievements And Title
There are several achievements to earn during the Midsummer Fire Festival. By completing the following, you’ll complete the meta achievementThe Flame Warden / The Flame Keeper.You’ll receive the titleFlame Warden(alliance) orFlame Keeper(horde).

King of the Fire Festival
Complete the questA Thief’s Reward.Itbecomes available after you have stolen the flames from each of the four enemy faction’s main cities.
Desecration of the Horde / Alliance
Extinguish all the horde / alliance bonfires inCataclysm, Eastern Kingdoms, Northrend, Outland, and Kalimdor zones.
Burning Hot Pole Dance
Dance at theribbon pole for 60 secondswhile wearing theMidsummer set. You’ll need to trade Burning Blossoms for the following items from a Midsummer vendor:
Torch Juggler
Juggle40 torches in 15 seconds in Dalaran.The easiest way to do this is to buy at least tenJuggling Torchesfrom a Midsummer Vendor, then add the item to your action bar and click the ground beneath you to get your character to quickly juggle the torches.It can only be done in old Dalaran (in Northrend).
There are several achievements to be earned when you visit bonfires around the world. For example,Flame Keeper of the Dragon IslesandExtinguishing the Broken Isles. Use your achievement log to keep track of which zones / locations you have completed.
