Your horse willsocialize betterwith Sims and other animals, andbucks lesswhen ridden.
Agility
Horsesmove better and more fluidlyas they increase their Agility, allowing them to compete inBarrel Racingcompetitions.
Jumping
This primarilycompetitive skillsees your horse performing timed jumps over bars that grow progressively taller
Endurance
Horses cantrain longer without becoming Fatigued.
If you don’t want to participate in training horses yourself, you cansend them for trainingby checking out one of theCommunity Boardsaround town.
In general, horses with better Temperament skillsare far better atsocializing. These are the horses you want totrain on if you’re new to horse riding, as they’refriendlier and more docile.
How To Build The Temperament Skill
The Temperament skill is possibly theeasiest horse skill to build, as themajority of your interactionswith your horse contribute.
Pretty muchall social interactions counttoward building your horse’s Temperance skill.
Continue toperform Friendly or Funny interactionswith your horse often, and your horse will become more temperate in time.
Outside regular care and time with your horse, youdon’t need to directly work on the Temperament skill, instead letting itbuild passivelyas you work to grow the bond you share.
How To Build The Agility Skill
The primary way to build your horse’s Agility skill is totrain them on the Barrels.
Purchased in a pair, training your horse on the Barrels sees themrunning circles around the two barrelsto work on how sharp their turns are.
There are a few options for Barrel training:

How To Build The Jumping Skill
While it may be fairly obvious, your horse will need topractice their jumpsin their time off from competitions in order to improve.
This can be done usingHorse Jumps, placed either on your home lot or on one of the community lots in Chestnut Ridge.
When you first begin training your horse in the Jumping skill, they’requite hesitant to jump.
They’ll oftenknock down the baras they attempt to clear it in the earliest days of their training.
Horses will practice jumping continuously, unless they knock the bar down.
If this happens, you need tomanually reset the barby clicking on the setup and telling your Sim to set it back up.
You canride your horse while it practicesif you need to get some practice in yourself in your Horse Riding skill, or you caninstruct a horse to practice on its ownif you’re otherwise busy.
As horses get better at Jumping, you’ll have the option toadd more bars to the jumpif you’re trying to ramp up the difficulty afterJumping Level Five.
How To Build The Endurance Skill
The only way to build Endurance when working on any physical skill is simplyconsistent practice. For horses, this meansriding them as often as you can.
It doesn’t matter if youuse them for transportationaround town as you go about your day, if you’retraining at home, or even justout for a leisure ride- the more you ride, the better they endure the next ride.
The same way you build your own Riding skill, Endurance is relatively passive - justride the horseand watch itsskill bar increaseas you trot around town.
It’s a great way to get better at horse riding, andfor your horse to get better at being ridden!
