How To Get The Alarm Clock
On thefirst day of your second yearin Forgotten Valley, after you’ve gotten married and had your child, a few new faces will move into town.
One of these isGarrett, a salary man who lives inthe Townhouseswith his wife, San, and their daughter, Kate.
The request becomes available on Spring One of your second year, the"Branching" chapter. Garrett posts on the board to requestPickled Veggies, in exchange for his old Alarm Clock. The quest hasno time limit.
And that might be good, because Garrett has a rather specific taste in pickles -hybrid pickles, to be specific, requiring some seed fusion before you can make them.

These are several options for your Turnip-based hybrid crops. If you haven’t gotten into making hybrid seeds yet, check out our guide for some tips and tricks to help you get started.
You needtwo different veggies from the list, so using the same won’t quite work.
Selecting one in the cooking process will gray it out on your menu screen, forcing you to choose a different second ingredient.
When you’re finished with the recipe, head back to Garrett and tell him you’re there to talk about his request. You’ll trigger acutscenewith him at his house, in which he’ll offer to come set up the Alarm Clock at yours.
How To Use The Alarm Clock
After Garrett sets it up for you, you canaccess the Alarm Clock on your bedside table, right where Takakura’s Notebook is on the shelf.
There arethree arms on the Alarm Clock. The twoblack armsare yourhour and minute handsthat denote thecurrent timeat which you’re setting the alarm.
Thered armis the one that will set the alarm. There arefive ticks between each numbershown on the clock, which markten-minute increments. It’s a12-hour clock.
To set the alarm, it’s best tofind the houryou’d like to wake up, get the red hand to that hour on the clock, and thencount the ticks up from there.
You can alsouse the alarm to take naps. If you set the alarm for a later time than it currently is that day and go to sleep, you’ll wake up at that later time, but on the same day and with yourenergy replenished.
The alarm stays setuntil manually changed, so if you’re not using it multiple days in a row, be sure toturn the alarm offif you don’t need it the following day, lest you wake up later than you’d like!
