Final Fantasy 16brings back many iconic enemies from the series. Malboros, Bombs, and Behemoths are all beloved enemies that have made their return in the entry. One of these monsters, the Minotaur, returns as an optional boss in the form of a Notorious Mark.

Progressing further along the main quest unlocks more Notorious Marks. After completing the Fire and Ice main quest, Sekhret can be hunted down. Appearing with a giant club as a weapon, this Minotaur can wipe you out quickly with strong attacks. Pursuing this monster is not recommended for those still getting a hang of the combat, but there’s no harm in trying anyway.

Where To Find Sekhret

Sekhret islocated West of Rhiannon’s Ride, Rosaria. To find this mark, travel to the Obelisk in Martha’s Rest then head north.

You’ll find Sekhret in thenorthwestern part of Greensheaves.

How To Beat Sekhret

Sekhret fights using a giant club for swinging attacks. They hit like a truck, sododging accordingly is absolutely vitalto defeat this monster.

Make sure that you haveplenty of high potions and the best defensive equipmentfrom crafting or Charon’s Toll.

Rush

Sekhret willcharge towards you.

This attack comes outtwice, back to back. Getting hit by this attack during the first rushprevents Sekhret from using the second rush. This attack is how Sekhret starts the fight, and it’s very easy to dodge through. Whenever Sekhret looks up and roars, they are going for a rush.

Underhanded Swing

Sekhretswings their clubin an upward motion.

This attack comes out very slowly, so it’seasy to get dodge early and get clobbered. To dodge properly,wait for a second after Sekhret digs their club into the groundand takes a step forward. Dodging too early or too late will send you flying.

Overhead Swing

Sekhret holds the club overhead thenswings downward.

While this attack also comes out slow, it’s easy to dodge.Dodging either left or right will suffice. Just remember toback off when Sekhret holds the club above their head.

Forward Swing

Sekhretswings the club horizontallytowards you.

This attack is simple and easy to dodge when you understand the timing. The best time to dodge isafter Sekhret takes a big step forwardswith the club over their shoulder.

Big Swing

Sekhret willspin around with the club, striking multiple times.

Sekhret uses this attackafter a quarter of their health has been taken out. Sekhret’sBig Swingdoes massive amounts of damage if you fail to dodge it. Sekhret will constantly move towards you if you try to distance yourself, so it’seasier to dodge through each swing. Sekhret will spin around six times, leaving themopen for attack after the last swing.

Raging Bull

Sekhret unleashesa strong six-hit combo.

Sekhret also uses this attackwhen they’re at low health. Sekhret’sRaging Bullattack can easily kill you if you get caught in its range. This attack is fast and nearly inescapable. Trying to dodge through another swing in the combo is hard to do since each swing is so quick. Before using this attack, Sekhret willshake with both of their arms down. Whenever you see this, it’sbest to distance yourself.

While Sekhret hits hard, this fight is much easier when you take advantage of Sekhret’s openings. Each oftheir attacks take a long time for them to recover from.

Final Fantasy 16 - Sekhret Hunt

Attacks likeBig Swing and Raging Bull give you the perfect opportunity to go all out with Eikonic abilities.Sekhret can be a huge threat when you’re up close, but that’s only if you fail to learn the proper timing to dodge each attack.

Sekhret lacks any kind of ranged attack. This means you arefree to run away and safely heal for a moment.

It also means thatranged Eikonic abilities like Heatwave or Giga Flareare great ways to take out this monster.

While you can attempt this hunt as soon as you complete the Fire and Ice main quest, you might want to hold off until you advance along the main story.

Right after this quest,Jill will temporarily be removed from your party.If you’re having particular trouble with this fight, you might want to wait until she returns to your side.
