Sure, this hunt can be ignored outright, but the Gelatinous Mass obtained from this hunt is vital forcrafting the Drakeslayer’s Bracelets.

Where To Find The Flan Prince

The Flan Prince is locatednorth of Hawk’s Cry Cliff, Rosaria.Travel tothe Obelisk in Hawk’s Cry Cliff and head north.The Flan Prince is right next to a cliff close to the path that leads to Auldhyl.

It may look like there’s nothing there, but theFlan Prince will appear after you get close to the fieldbelow the cliff.

How To Beat The Flan Prince

The Flan Prince is an A-Rank hunt that has many tricks up its slimy sleeves. The Flan Prince will constantly bombard you withmagical attacks and try to use them as cover to unleash physical attacks.For this fight, you want todo all you can to avoid these spellssince they are the strongest attacks this monster can dish out.

Firaga

Flan Prince throws a giant fireball at you.

A very slow projectile thattracks your movement.It’s easy to dodge; you can prepare for it to start chasing you when Flan Prince’s hands move backward. Right after this, their hands will move forward, and the fireball will come flying.

Blizzaga

Flan Prince calls icicle shards that will fall from the sky.

Theblue lights on the groundshow where the icicle shards will land. Avoiding these spots is easy to do without precision dodging. Blizzagadoesn’t chase you,and it’s rare for you to be standing in a blue light once the spell is cast.

Thundaga

Flan Prince will shoot beams of lightning from each of their four hands.

Bolts of lightning will move slowly upwards toward you. They can bedodged to the left or right.Casting Thundaga takes a bit longer than other spells, giving you extra time to get some hits in. Dodging through the bolts towards Flan Prince is best to close the distance and deal damage.

Stonega

Flan Prince calls massive stone spires that will emerge from the ground.

Thecracks on the groundshow where the stones will come out from in sets of two. When Stonega is cast,you have to keep moving since this spell will follow you. After the second stone spires appear, you can go in for attacks without fear of being launched into the air.

Tornado

Flan Prince calls miniature tornadoes to appear.

Thegreen circles of light on the groundshow where each tornado will rise from. These tornadoes are stationary and easy to dodge due to the short time they stay active on the field.

Electro Bolts

Flan Prince will shoot out several electric orbs.

These sphereswill follow your movements, so you have to either dodge through them or use Titanic Block. You could alsouse Heatwave to melt through these projectiles, but seeing as this attack rarely comes out, you should just equip whatever Eikonic abilities you want.

Bite

Flan Prince rears its head back before launching forward to take a bite.

Flan Prince goes for bites randomly when you’re close to it. Dodge justa moment after Flan Prince throws their head back.

Lunge

Flan Prince throws both arms back before shooting them forward.

Another attack the Flan Prince uses at close range. This attack hits hard, so dodge whenFlan Prince throws their arms backward.This might look like they are going for a leap, but instead, theFlan Prince moves their head backward when preparing for a lunge.

Leap

Flan Prince hurls itself at you.

This attack comes out often during this fight after a spell is cast. Whenever you’re at a distance,this attack is Flan Prince’s main method of pursuit. Prepare for a dodge when the Flan Prince’s arms are laid on the ground in front of them.

At lower health,Flan Prince will use this move even if you are right next to them.

Twist

Flan Prince tightens up its body before spinning around and attacking.

There’s some delay between the attack and when Flan Prince coils up their body.Try tododge right when Flan Prince starts to shake a little.Flan Prince will throw out their arms and attack twice, but if you dodge the first swing, the second swing will not hurt you.

Hands Down

Flan Prince will swing at you with giant hands.

At half health, Flan Prince will throw its hands down to unleash a combo.This attack starts with Flan Prince throwing their right arm into the airand slamming it into the ground. After this, they will repeatedly slap their hands into the ground before clasping both hands together and slamming them down.

The best times tododge during this attack are whenever Flan Prince has their hands or arms stretched upwards. They do this right before the first and final hit in this attack.

Dualcast

Flan Prince casts two magical attacks at once.

At half health, Flan Prince will startcombining different types of magic and casting them at the same time.Any of Flan Prince’s spells can be cast in conjunction with one another.

Flan Prince’s large amount of health can make this fight drag on if you don’t take every opportunity to wind down its health. It might seem risky, butit’s safe to briefly go in for attacks whenever Flan Prince casts a spell.Each spell has a long startup, and spells like Blizzaga and Tornado often miss when cast.The only spell you should wait out is Stonegasince it follows your movements.

Don’t forget thatFlan Prince follows up each spell with a few physical attacks before casting another spell, so you can’t mindlessly hack away after every magic attack. You’ll have to be even more careful when Flan Prince is at half health sincethey will start jumping towards you, even if you are right next to them.Even so, you should prioritize dodging those spells.

When Flan Prince starts using Dualcast and Hands Down, you won’t be able to freely go in for attacks when magic is being cast. If you want to try your luck,spells can also be parried.Use your limit break and take advantage of those fast attacks to have an easier time parrying.

Hands Down is a devastating attack that can not be interrupted.Even if their Will Gauge is emptied, you cannot stagger Flan Prince until this attack ends.
