AmongThe Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie’s many splendid Daydream Episodes, you’ll be treated to a fair few boss battles unlike anything found during the game’s main quest. This is certainly true of the fight in A Maiden’s Melancholy against a so-called Invisible Man.

Though he’s far from the toughest lad in Trails into Reverie, the culprit of this side quest’s big mystery has enough tricks up his sleeve to give players a hassle on higher difficulties. With an eye toward those harder challenges in mind, we’re covering this complete Daydream, including its flashy showdown.
Rewards And Mission
As with all Daydream Episodes,A Maiden’s Melancholy is unlocked by finding the appropriate stones within Stratums. In due time, you’ll acquire this one, and you can check out this somber redemption story - or at least, the makings of one - at your leisure. Your rewards for completing it will include5000 Mira, Claire’s RMP Uniform, the Reginleif Quartz, and a page for Claire’s, Sara’s, and Asara’s Character Notes.
While some Daydream Episodes have a fair amount of walking around, chatting with NPCs, and the like, A Maiden’s Melancholy keeps it to a minimum. (That said, some have no gameplay whatsoever!) It’s up to the ‘Badass Babes Brigade’ to get to the bottom of a mystery surrounding a so-calledInvisible Man. It turns out the rapid spread of technology across Zemuria’s got more to do with his tricks than any magic spell.
After we’re both introduced to Isara for the first time, andsoon lose sight of her, the ‘BBB’ gets down to business at the Imperial Museum. You’re given control to rush aheada couple of rooms, but that’s as much legwork as we need to do manually. It’s time for the boss.
Boss Battle
The Invisible Man is Level 90. In most JRPGs, that’d be a menacing sentence, but given Trails into Reverie opens with Lloyd’s team several levels higher, it’s hardly noteworthy. Similarly, his165k HPisn’t as scary as it once was in Trails games, though it’s still sturdy enough for your party to require several turns to fell him.
Wind is the Invisible Man’s greatest weakness, whileLink Attacksbetween the three leading ladies can ramp up over 20k at once with attacks likeTrue Thundering Vortex. Sharon’sShadow Stitchcomes in handy, too, reducing the opponent’s Speed and Movement.
On the other hand, physical attacks aren’t too effectiveagainst his fairly decent defense rating. The Invisible Man’s most irritating attack is probablyZero Sum Edge, if only because it can inflictSpeed Down, effectively evening the board if Shadow Stitch has done the same to him. Heck, his other special attack,Titanic Fall, does roughly the same amount of damage (3000 to 3500 to all within range) but lowersMovement, so again, evening the board.
The funny thing about this boss is that even if he chooses to use his special attacks four to five times in a row, which would be just enough to drop your entire team if you don’t heal before things get dire, that’s about as many turns as it should take the gals to clean up and finish the fight. Put another way,so long as you heal if necessary and keep the pressure up, it’s pretty unlikely you’ll lose.
