The Mageth Brothers will likely strike you as beingprettyfamiliar, given how many times you will have encountered the Imperial Champion class of enemy up to this point, but don’t get too cavalier. The Mageth Brothers have quite a few tricks up their sleeves that they can use to make your life difficult. This is more to this battle than just fighting three of these brutal executioners at once!

Where To Find The Mageth Brothers

The Mageth Brothers are hanging out at the beach that is north of Port Isolde in Rosaria.you may fast travel to Port Isolde, and from there, travel north on the path. Once you see the beach on your left, head that way. The brothers will be waiting for you.

How To Beat The Mageth Brothers

Mindwydd, Cindwydd, and Sandwydd are in a lot of ways pretty familiar. However, you will never have fought three of these guys together, and this trio does come packing some particularly damaging attacks.

The table below will break down all of the Mageth Brothers' unique attacks - those in italics are named attacks that appear on-screen, so you can look out for them specifically.

Final Fantasy 16, Mageth Brothers Hunt, Location

Description

Spin Slash

The brother will raise their hands above their head, then perform a spinning attack that will hit twice. The second swing is slow enough that the invincibility frames from your first dodge/block will have passed by the time the second swing comes around. This just means that you will need to block (or dodge) both swings.

Last Crusade

The brothers will perform a coordinated charge. They never perform this attack separately. This attack should always be precision dodged. A precision block is playing with fire.

Crea y Cwm

This is a large uppercut swipe that is followed by another giant horizontal slash. There is an extremely long wind-up animation for this attack, so you will have lots of time to get some distance.

The Mageth Brothers will only gain access to this attack once one of them has fallen.

Iron Gavel

This is a swift four-hit combo. Before it is performed, the remaining brother will give out a primal roar while puffing their chest out.

The final Mageth Brother will gain access to this attack once both of their brothers have been exterminated.

Final Fantasy 16, Mageth Brothers Hunt, Precision dodging the Mageth Brothers

We would typically tell you to rely on the Titan Eikon’s block ability for this type of enemy as they have slow, predictable attacks. This fight is not an exception to that rule.We absolutely recommend you utilize that block here with the Mageth Brothers, but there is a caveat: when it comes to the Last Crusade attack, we strongly suggest you use the precision dodge instead.Otherwise, you’ll need to hit a sequence of perfect blocks, and if you falter the consequence will be dire. It quite simply isn’t worth the risk.

As you can see, there are three Mageth Brothers: Sandwydd, Cindwydd, and Mindwydd. However, outside their names, there is literally no difference between the three. They will spend their time hacking at Clive with heavily telegraphed attacks.Nearly all their attack will cause them to wind up for quite some time before they swing at you.

Final Fantasy 16, Mageth Brothers Hunt, Clive Precision Blocking

They have a Spin Slash attack, which will see them spin around twice. Worry not, as this attack has a tell-tale sign: they’ll raise their arms above their head before they start spinning.Naturally, the real difficulty here is keeping track of all three of them.

If you precision block (or dodge) the first attack of the Spin Slash, you will still need to precision block (or dodge) the second strike as well. The follow-up swing is so slow that your invulnerability will have run out by the time the second swipe comes around.

Final Fantasy 16, Mageth Brothers Hunt, Crae y Cwm attack

Of course, you are going to need to be pretty cautious here.A precision block will give you every opportunity to retaliate, but you need to keep an eye on what the other brothers are doing. They will stagger their attacks, so as one is vulnerable, another way be preparing to swing at you. Using attacks that hit multiple enemies will of course be a pivotal element here.

Moving past their basic attacks, the Mageth Brothers have s special charging attack called the “Last Crusade”. This will lock you into a multi-hitting charge. This move is quite easy to precision dodge, but make sure you don’t fumble, asit hits hard enough that you could potentially go straight from full health to dead from this attack alone.

Final Fantasy 16, Mageth Brothers Hunt, Iron Gavel yell

If youdoget tagged by the Last Crusade charge, you can still use your limit break and then dodge away. This will be your only way to escape.

Once you kill your first of the three brothers, the remaining two will gain theCrea y Cwm.This is another heavy hitting attack. Once again, this attack has a very lengthy charge that comes before they use it. It is relatively easy to precision block, but you don’t really get much of a reward for taking such a large risk as if it hits it will do tremendous damage. Beyond that, it will easier to keep track fo the Mageth brothers, so, even with the new attack, the brothers should be easier to manage.

The second hit of theCrea y Cwmwill always land.Unless, that is, you use your Limit Break. you may pop it mid-air to escape the second slash.

Once you kill your second brother, the last one will gain theIron Gavelattack. This attack has another big tell, where the final Mageth Brother will let out a primal roar before launching into a 4-hit combo. All the hits in theIron Gavelattack are quite quick, and can easily catch you off guard. This is another attack that you should probably precision dodge. You can block them, but it is better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise, keep up the pressure on the final brother, and they will, eventually, fall.

One convenient element of this fight is thatif you do kill a brother, and then die, when you return the Mageth Brother you killed will still be dead. So, you won’t have to start this battle from scratch if you do end up getting caught by one of their heavily damaging attacks.

After having buried all three brothers you will reap the following rewards:

13,000
