Hunts inFinal Fantasy 16are usually simple affairs - you head to a specific location, get confronted by the Notorious Mark in question, and then the fight begins. What follows is then usually an elevated encounter against an enemy you’ve likely already fought before, with some new tricks up its sleeves.

Granted, with the Soul Stingers, this is pretty much how things go… until you realize that you’re up against multiple enemies. And that these enemies cannot be Staggered. And that they have some pretty devastating moves that can really put the hurt on you. Well, here’s how to defeat them.
How To Beat The Soul Stingers
You’ll find the Soul Stingers, once unlocked via the Hunt Board, inDhalmekia, to theeast of the Fields of Corava. You should be able to spot them from quite far away - they are a swarm of massive wasps, after all.
Despite being aC-Rankhunt, it’s important not to underestimate them. There are five of them, and each one has an inflated health pool which prolongs the battle enough for them to use their ultimate attack.
Apipuncture involves the Soul Stingers making a coordinated jabbing attack at you. They’ll charge up their stingers and then zoom at you. This attack is incredibly swift, so you’ll want tostop what you’re doing and prepare to dodgeat the last second. Getting hit by this attack when there are still three or four Soul Stingers around may be certain death.
The key to winning this battle as painlessly as possible is to go in with the right skill set and try to take out as many Soul Stingers as you’re able to as quickly as you can. For this reason, here are the best skills to employ:
These attacks all have pretty goodarea-of-effect radiusesthat can be used to hit multiple Soul Stingers at once. If you open the battle with these, managing to hit as many enemies as possible, finishing off individual Soul Stingers shouldn’t be a problem.

After weakening the Soul Stingers with your large attacks, you canbreak out the single-target attacks for easy kills. In addition, make smart use ofGaruda’s Deadly Embraceto bring individual Soul Stingers right to your location for easy combos.
If you spot a Soul Stinger on the ground after an attack, dash over and perform a finisher on it for large damage!
