Thankfully, the prep isn’t too bad. You just need to know what you’re getting yourself involved in, and how best to either dodge the Wind Elementals' quick strikes, or better yet, counter them for some nice punishing payback. This guide will cover your bouts with Chirada and Suparna, as well as Aruna and Gizmaluk.
How To Defeat Chirada And Suparna
For the Chirada and Suparna fight specifically, we encourage you to read their specific section in ourCaer Norventdungeon walkthrough. Take note of some of the strategies we mention here, since they’ll also apply in various ways going forward!
How To Defeat Aruna
Like other Wind Elemental enemies, the swiftness of their attacks has a glaring weak point in the time it takes for them to return to a more aggressive approach afterward. Put another way, Aruna is going to feel like a hurricane’s coming after Clive… for a moment. Once all is said and done, take advantage of her seemingly self-inflicted pseudo-stagger.
We’re using a lot of silly words here, but we hope you get where we’re coming from. It’s not that Aruna actually staggers herself afterward as a gameplay mechanic, but she makes all the motions oftaking time to recover from her last action, thus giving you an excellent window of opportunity to get in there and hit her hard.
Besides giving you a golden telegraphed chance to go after your mark on a regular basis mid-battle, this sort of stop-and-go fighting style the Wind Elementals deploy also meansyou shouldn’t worry over whether to use slower Eikon abilities that dish higher damage. An example of this can be found withWicked Wheel- it’s a several-second animation that can pile on the damage, but it’s also pretty easy for faster-recovering foes to brush Clive aside if you aren’t able to parry a blow.
That’s not such a problem here. Just keep your distance when Aruna’s on the rampage, and show her Clive’s sword and Torgal’s teeth when she’s recuperating.
How To Defeat Gizmaluk
The difference between Aruna and Gizmaluk largely boils down to pure power, with the A-rank Mark Hunt predictably stronger than her C-rank sister. However, therearesome additional things to fret over, most notablyCacophony. Gizamaluk begins the battle with this attack, which lights various parts of the field in greenish glows that then explode roughly simultaneously.
The range of impact on these is a little worse than the relative size of the lights on the ground would indicate, sostay far away from them until they’ve exploded.Gizamaluk’s attacks are more furious than any other Wind Elemental’s, not just in terms of raw damage output, but in melee range and combo capability.Often, she will slash through the air multiple times whenher predecessors might have only done so once.
UseDeadly Embracewhen Gizamaluk briefly pauses. She’s not light enough for Clive to pull her to him with ease, but that’s a good thing. The string-like maneuver Clive utilizes when a foe is heavierwillgive her enough trouble for you to get in and strike her with all your might.
A goodGigaflareto the face when Gizamaluk is fully staggered ought to do the trick, too. We were able to push nearly 50k damage on her during a single stagger phase this way on our first attempt, so it’s likely easier than it sounds to do that much more if you’re seasoned in the fine art of Wind-slaying.
