Dogs make their comeback inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and while it is true that you still can’t pet the dog, there are a number of other ways you can become best pals with Hyrule’s furry friends. And who wouldn’t want to see the good boys jumping for joy over a silly apple?

But feeding the dogs just for their happiness isn’t the end of the story. As you could in Breath of the Wild, feeding dogs can lead you to new goodies and areas of adventure you might never have foreseen yourself finding on your own. It seems like a worthwhile price to pay for making a dog’s day.
Where To Find Dogs
You can find your canine friendsat any stable across Hyrule, just as you could in Breath of the Wild. Although youcannot physically interact with them, you caninstead choose to:
If you’re wanting to fill out your photo album, the Hyrule Compendium, you’ll want to take a picture of these dogs. Make it a selfie or don’t, but either way, you’ll need their precious snoots in your albumif you want to fill it completely.
You canfeed a dog several types of foodto increase its affection:
Raw meatdoes not include fish.Dogs dislike fish and will not eat them.
Give a dogfour pieces of liked food, and it will end in making your furry buddylead you to a nearby treasure chestas a ‘thank you’ for the scrumptious meal. These treasure chests are typicallypartially buried in the groundandrequire the use ofUltrahand to pull them upagain.
Some stables, like Tabantha Bridge, willhave multiple dogs, but it appears that Foothill Stable is theonly stable location where feeding each of the dogs will result in multiple prizes. In the case of Foothill Stable, you will need to feed the dogs every four pieces.
If you begin feeding a dog but leave the area to gain more food or come back later, you will have to restart the process. The game does not keep track of treats you have given a dog previously.
