Unlike many other Gacha games,Honkai: Star Rail’sdevelopers have made their four-star characters quite strong. If you build them properly, you can clear all the content in the game without any five-star characters, which makes it a great pick for players who wouldn’t want to spend too much money on it.

Yukong is one of these four-star characters, and she was released alongside Luocha in the second phase of the Version 1.1 update. Since she’s a four-star, you can acquire her randomly on any banner once her first featured banner ends.

Honkai Star Rail Yukong Relic Screen

Updated July 21, 2025:The article has been updated with recent Relic and Ornament sets that make Yukong’s kit a lot better.

Best Relics And Planar Ornaments For Yukong

Once you unlock the Relics screen in the character information section, you may equip up to six types of gear on Yukong. These are known as Relics and Planar Ornaments. Getting two or four pieces of the same set can give you a special set bonus. Here are the best bonuses that Yukong can benefit from:

Relics

Thief Of Shooting Meteor

This Relic set is already great for most support characters in the game, but it is even better on Yukong because she has apassive that increases her Weakness Break Efficiency by 100 percent for Basic Attacks.

The 32 percent Break Effect after getting four pieces of this setlets you deal higher damage whenever you trigger a Weakness Break. Moreover, she also regenerates some Energy when the Break triggers.

Honkai Star Rail Yukong Light Cone

Musketeer Of Wild Wheat

The Musketeer is one of the best overall sets in the game asit can give you ATK and SPD at the same time. Furthermore, Yukong’s Basic Attack DMG also increases with the four-piece.

This stacks with her Talent thatgives her extra Basic Attack DMG based on her ATK. SPD is also an important stat on her as you’d want her to get a turn just before your DPS characters.

Honkai Star Rail Yukong Picture From Back

Wastelander Of Banditry Desert

Even though she’s a Harmony character,Yukong’s DMG from the Basic Attack and Ultimate allows her to be a semi-DPS. This makes the Imaginary DMG boost from this set viable for her.

Although, it might behard to get value out of the four-piece of this setsince you need to debuff the enemies. Instead, it’s better to use a two-piece Wastelander with a two-piece Musketeer.

Planar Ornaments

Sprightly Vonwacq

Yukong’s Ultimate is arguably the best part of her kit asshe increases both the Crit Rate and DMG of your party members. This set allows you to get this Ultimate faster by increasing your Energy Regen Rate.

Moreover, your first turn in every battle is advanced forward by 40 percent, whichallows you to conveniently act before your DPS characters and give them the DMG boost.

Talia: Kingdom Of Banditry

If you’re planning to use the Thief set and focus Yukong’sabilities to trigger Imaginary Weakness Break on the enemies, this Ornament set can be perfect.

If you have over 145 SPD, it gives you up to 36 percent Break Effect. However, that amount of SPD can be quite hard to getunless you focus your stats on it.

Broken Keel

Ever since the World Seven release, Broken Keel has been one of the most popular sets on support characters since itgives all party members a 10 percent Crit DMGboost as long as you have 30 percent Effect RES.

This buff stacks with the Crit provided by Yukong’s Ultimate, making her one of the best Harmony characters.

Now that you know the best set bonuses for the character, it’s also important to learn the viable main and sub-stats. Each Relic and Planar Ornament piecehas one main stat and up to four sub-stats if they’re of the highest rarity. Since she’s a support character, you should be looking for ATK Percent, SPD, and Break Effect on sub-stats.

If you’re planning to build her as a DPS with her Eidolons, you can think about building a good Crit Ratio on her.

As for the main stat, here’s what you should be looking for:

Energy Regeneration Rate

Energy Regeneration Rate is the rarest stat in Honkai: Star Rail as youcan’t get it as a sub-stat and the chances of getting it as a main stat on the Link Rope are slim as well. It’s recommended to use the Self-Modeling Resin from the battle pass and events to create one of these ropes.

Best Light Cones For Yukong

Since she’s a four-star character,it’s not as hard to acquire good Light Cones for Yukong. Although, her kit makes some of these Cones situational, and here’s everything you need to know about that:

Dance! Dance! Dance!

This Light Cone can only be acquired through the Gacha System, though it can be her best in slot based on your play style. Whenever you use your Ultimate, the actions for all your allies are advanced forward by a certain percentage.

This can be greatif you’re fighting high-level boss enemiesin the Echoes of War or Memory of Chaos since they have very high SPD.

Carve The Moon, Weave The Clouds

Whenever the battle starts or you get a turn, Yukong will randomly apply one of the following buffs on all allies:ATK, Crit DMG, or Energy Regeneration Rate boost. The first two buffs stack with her abilities, making them quite strong.

Unfortunately, the only way to get this weapon is by buying the premium tier of the battle pass and choosing it once you reach level 30.

Past And Future

This is Yukong’s signature Light Cone, and itincreases the DMG dealt by the next ally who takes a turn after you use your Skill. This synergizes with her kit as her Skill buff also lasts for the next two ally turns.

But The Battle Isn’t Over

While arguably better than Past And Future because of its higher base ATK and DMG boost for the next ally’s turn, this five-star Light Cone might not be as good on Yukong as it seems.

The Skill Point is only regenerated when the Ultimate is used on one of your allies.Yukong uses the Ultimate on an enemy and buffs her effect from the Skill. Neither of these are applied to the allies directly, nullifying the SP gain.

Planetary Rendezvous

If you’re planning to use mono-Imaginary teams with Yukong since she has a passive that increases all allies' Imaginary DMG, this Light Cone is perfect. It gives an ally extra DMG if their combat type is the same as the wearer.

Mediation

Finally, you’re able to use this three-star Light Cone if you’re new to the game and don’t have a better choice. It doesn’t synergize with Yukong that well, but it’s the best three-star available.

Yukong Traces Overview And Priority

Yukong is one of the harder characters to use in Honkai: Star Rail asyou have to manage the turns of your alliesso that your DPS character always gets a turn soon after Yukong. She has a set of eight main Traces, and here’s what they all do:

Arrowslinger

Basic Attack

DealsImaginary DMG to one enemy on the field. The DMG dealt scales on Yukong’s ATK.

Emboldening Salvo

Skill

When this Skill is used, Yukong gains two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings. Thisincreases all allies' ATK until you have stacks, and one stack runs out with each ally’s turn.

It’s worth mentioning that Ultimates, Seele’s buffed state attacks, and follow-up attacks don’t count as turns.

Diving Kestrel

Ultimate

If Yukong has at least one stack of Roaring Bowstrings, this ability increases all allies' Crit Rate and DMGwhile dealing some Imaginary DMG to one enemy.

Increases the Basic Attack DMG and Toughness break efficiency.

Chasing The Wind

Technique

Increases her movement SPD in the overworld by 35 percent for 20 seconds andYukong gains two stacks of Roaring Bowstringsat the start of the next battle.

Majestas

Bonus Ability

When Yukong has stacks for Roaring Bowstrings, she regenerates two extra Energywhen an ally takes action.

Since she’s a four-star character, Yukong has a pretty straightforward set of abilities. You canupgrade the first four abilities mentioned in the table above up to level ten, while the last three abilities can be unlocked once at certain ascensions. Her Skill should be your first upgrade priority since you’ll be using that a lot.

After that, you can upgrade her Ultimate followed by her Talent or Basic Attack in any order. It’s recommended to upgrade all her abilities as much as you can since this will let her deal some damage while buffing your party members at the same time.
