Most people will try everything they can to catch these moray eels early on, but you’ll soon find you won’t have much luck. You’ll need to catch one for the ‘A Noisy Customer’ mission in Chapter Two, so here’s what you need to know.

How To Catch Moray Eels

If you’re trying every harpoon, weapon, and net you can to catch the moray eels that peek out of holes during the daytime, don’t bother.Moray eels can only be caught during the nightwhen they freely swim around instead of hiding away in little cracks and crevices.

Diving at night uses up one-third of your evening time, meaning you’ll have reduced hours of operation in the sushi restaurant.

Diving at night comes with its own perils as there aremany more aggressive fish around, and moray eels are one of them.

Moray eels will try and attack you, so you have to be well prepared to take them down.Damaging eels with a weapon before attempting to harpoon themwill help you catch an eel, though be careful not to just stab it to death, as you willreduce your star ratingif you kill it.

As you progress through the game and unlock better weapons and tranquilizer guns, moray eels become a lot easier to catch. You’ll also eventuallyunlock the Fish Farm, where you can breed eels.
