Unfortunately, however, there is a maximum number of people you can have in your party at once—four, including yourself. This means that to fully explore each companion’s unique storyline, you’ll need to swap your crew around. Don’t worry, the process is super simple, and this guide will show you exactly how to put your favorite companions on your team, and your least favorite ones on the bench.
All About Your Camp
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you and your party will have access toa permanent campwhere you cansleep through the night.
You’ll be able to access your camp from almost anywhere, just byopening the mapand choosing the “Camp” option on the right.
Any of your companions whoaren’t travelingwith youcan be found here.
You can alsostore itemsat your camp. Pick upchests andCratesfrom around the world andplace them aroundforextra storage!
Sending Companions Back To Camp
When you speak to yourcompanions, you’ll have the option to tell them “I need you to stay at the camp for a while.”
After asking for confirmation, the companion willreturn to your campandwait thereuntil you are ready to join up with them again.
Similarly, if you already havefour people in your partywhen you ask anew potential teammateto join you, they’ll note thatyour party is too fullfor them to join. From here, you’ll be able toask them to return to your campand wait for you there.
Asking Companions To Join Your Party
If you find yourself missing the company of any companions waiting for you at camp, justhead there and talk to them! This will give you theoption to ask them to join youon your travels again.
Note that new (and returning) party members willautomatically gain enough XPto catch up to the levels you accumulated while adventuring without them, conveniently ensuring thatno companion gets left behind, even if you’ve left them on the bench for a little too long.
