The main quest, Brothers In Arms: Nilfgaard, will have Geralt can turn to his unlikeliest ally for help inThe Witcher 3.With a siege on Kaer Morhen all but guaranteed, a small detachment from one of Nilfgaard’s armies stationed in the area would make a huge difference in defending the fortress' crumbling walls from the Wild Hunt.

The quest will have you head to Vizima for an audience with the Emperor to convince him to provide military assistance. While the quest goes as well as one would expect, there are other ways for you to benefit from this unproductive meeting.

You will unlock this quest after completingVa Fail, Elaine.With Ciri’s location narrowed down and a confrontation with the Wild Hunt looming on the horizon, Geralt sets off to get help from his allies across the continent.

One of them isEmperor Emhyr,occupying Vizima, the former capital of Temeria.You will have to fast travel to the regionto reach his office, inside the palace. You can reach it byopening the world mapand looking for the cityat the bottom of the map.

If this is your first time visiting since the start of the game, you can use this opportunity to explore the palace andtalk to General Voorhisby the throne room.

You will beautomatically encumberedwhen you arrive, giving you an incorrect warning and forcing you to walk through Vizima.

Meeting Emhyr

Unfortunately,the men cannot come to an understanding.Geralt insists that the battle has to be fought at Kaer Morhen. Emhyr willonly allow his men to be led by General Voorhis,which Geralt cannot allow.

There is nothing you’re able to do to get Emhyr’s help.The quest will automatically end after this disappointing encounter.

There is no reason to end the quest on a sour note. You canpilfer Emhyr’s chestsbefore you leave, helping yourself to the treasures within. You are likely tofind crafting diagrams and other, valuable loot inside.He should consider it a down payment if anything.
