Chapter Seven Walkthrough

Once Lynne and Sissel agree to work together inGhost Trick: Phantom Detective,things only begin to get more strange and mysterious. You can take a break from going back in time to prevent character deaths in Chapter Six, but you’ll still have plenty of puzzle-solving to do if you want to reach Prisoner D99’s cell!

There’s quite the cast of characters within the walls of the Secret Prison, and it’s worth paying attention to their mannerisms and habits while you’re here. Don’t get too distracted, though, as you’ve still got a job to do -= and this guide will help ensure that you pull it off!

How To Reach The Cell Blocks

When the chapter begins, you’ll need to reach a phone to make your way to the Prison. If you didn’t already do so in the previous chapter,activate the hoist near the ceiling.It will slowly move to the right, giving you a path to the upper floor. Eavesdrop on the Pigeon Man and the cop there, then leave through the phone.

When you arrive at the Prison Office,remove the right-hand memo from Bailey’s board.When the other guard catches it, but before they start talking, move to the Emergency Switch under the desk. The room will change, allowing you tocross the room via the hidden weapons locker.

Return to Bailey’s desk andremove the other memo.Listen to the guards' conversation, thenwait for Bailey to post a third memoand remove it as well. The guard’s conversation will include information about your target, Prisoner D99, then a brief cutscene will play in the room next door.

When the camera returns to the office, the goblet on the right will have moved, allowing you toenter the phone roomwhere Prisoner C38 is making a call.Press the button next to the door, and enter the Ghost World to stop time when it’shalfway open.If it opens all the way, you won’t be able to reach it, but don’t worry - the guard willclose the door againafter a second. Use the door to reach C38’s guitar; when the prisoner leaves, he’ll take it with him, bringing you to the cell block.

How To Find Prisoner D99

In C38’s cell,go to the blackboard near the basketball hoop.Once Sissel finishes talking,go to the phone between the cells to the right.This will give you a way to move around within the building. Next,press the alarm button above the phone.Each time you do this, the guards will enter and C38 will send a message to the prisoner in the lower-right byflushing a note down the toilet.

You may need to try this multiple times to get the timing right; set off the alarm, thenquickly move to the note that C38 flushes.If you don’t get it before it goes down the drain, you may still be able tojump to it while it’s in the pipes belowfrom C38’s guitar. When you arrive in the cell below,check the blackboard abovebefore continuing.

Whenever the bell rings, the prisoner will enter or leave his escape tunnel; as he’s leaving,possess his spoonuntil he throws it into the cup near his cot. You’ll be able to reach another internal phone and emergency button, effectively giving you the run of the building. Keep moving left toenter D99’s cell.

When you can move around again after the cutscene,open the picture frame to the leftin order to reach the upper area of the cell. When you reach the blackboard, you’ll get the information you need;return to the picture frameand close it to trigger another cutscene. Afterward,use the phone to return to the office.

Listen in on the phone conversation with Cabanela, then to the guards chatting after Bailey hangs up. When they’re done,use the new phone numberto get more information at the Police Station - be sure tolisten to the entire conversationbetween Cabanela and the Chief! When Cabanela sits down,raise the antenna near the phoneto reach the ceiling, thenlower the projector screen.When it’s fully extended, you’ll be able toplay the video evidencethat Cabanela was talking about by using the remote on the table. After the cutscene, Cabanela will pick up the phone - use it totravel to the Chicken Kitchenand end the chapter.
