The quest Deadly Crossing is a pair of events in the area that have Geralt encountering these criminals. How you respond to them is up to you, but this guide will outline your options and where you can encounter these bridges. Not everything needs to end in bloodshed, though violence may be satisfying.

The bridgesouthwest of Crow’s Perchhas been occupied by a gang of bandits thatcharge a toll for people crossing.You havethree ways to get across.
Pay The Toll
The toll is50 crowns,which isn’t a staggering amount but certainly stings early in the game.
Use Axii
You’ll needDelusion at level twofor this to work, which is unlikely early in the game.
Kill Them
Slaughtering the gang is cheaper than paying them.
If you hadkilled the bandits,you’ll need to lower the bridge byinteracting with the mechanism on the left side.
Another group of bandits willoccupy a junction northeast of Crookback Bogseveral days after killing this group.
Nilfgaardian Bridge
There is a bridgejust north of Lindenvalewhich hosts a force of Nilfgaardians. These soldiers will not cause you any trouble so long as you avoid provoking them.
Return to the bridgeafter several daysto find the garrisonkilled by bandits.While the bandits will notattack Geralt immediately,they will offer tosell him a stolen sword.you’re able to buy it for525 crownsor turn down the offer.
This sword is calledMourner,it’s asteel swordthat hasarmor piercing, increased Critical Hit damage, and Yrden Sign intensity.The exact effects will be affected by Geralt’s level.
If you want the sword butdon’t want to pay, you candraw your weapons and kill the bandits.You’ll be able to loot it from them.
