Although you won’t receive much in way of reward for your efforts, you’ll certainly be doing Hyrule a great service and preventing another Lurelin Village catastrophe.
How To Begin The Gathering Pirates Quest
To begin this quest, venture to East Akkala Stable and speak with Aya, the blonde Hylian sweepingoutside the stables. After informing you of her pesky pirate problem, you’ll be shown toa tree where you can get a bird’s eye view of your goal.
After speaking with Aya,venture thereto spy a group ofthree pirate ships to the northeast. However, you won’t want to take them on just yet.
You’ll need to face avariety of monsterson these ships, including:
Depending on your advancement of the story, the Bokoblins — especially the black and silver —may change color or difficulty.
Before challenging this group, ensure you have plenty of arrows. you may buy them from one of the traveling merchants inside the stable if you’re running low. Additionally,area-of-attack items you can fuseto those arrows will be handy (i.e.Bomb Floweror anyDinraal parts).
Additionally, being near the stable, take this opportunity toreplenish your supply of meals.Healing meals are a must, but you can also make meals thatincrease your attack or defense powerfor some added benefits.
If you haveRiju from Gerudoas an ally, she’ll be exceptionally useful hereagainst groups of enemies from afar.
How To Defeat The Pirates
After ensuring you have arrows, your fused items, good gear, and a supply of proper meals, travel further up the cliffsidefrom the tree Aya pointed out to you (to the north) andjump off to glide over to the ships.
All ships will haveAerokuda flying aroundin the sky, causing issues while you’re gliding in and attacking in swarms.
Whichever you choose, you canland on the ships or in the wateron one of many floating pieces of wood before climbing aboard via ladder.
All ships have their fair share of timed bombsthat will detonate a few seconds after striking them or dropping them from a high enough point. You canuse these to your advantageto destroy groups of enemies without getting close.
Additionally, theship on the right has a cache ofRockets, aHover Stone, and a chest with aSapphire. You can use these toplace yourself in a high positionin the air andrain a cache of arrows downon slowed enemies.
While you’re fighting on one ship, other monsters may notice you, so take care toavoid the thrown rocks and other projectilesthat may be fired across the gap.
This isespecially important if you started with the left shipand have yet to defeat the Bokoblin with theFire Fruiton the right ship’s crow nest.
Once the left and right ships are cleared of monsters, jump from a high position and glide over to the farthest shipwith the Boss Bokoblin. If you don’t make it, there is aladder on the far right side(the back of the ship) you’re able to use to board.
Defeat the Boss Bokoblinand his hordeto clear all ships of monsters.
With the ships cleared, you’ll be able toclimb the crow’s nest of the Boss Bokoblin’s shipand reach anow-opened monster chest. Inside will be ahigh-leveled weapon.Claim it now asyou cannot return here, and thepirates will not respawn— even after a Blood Moon.
Return to Aya at the East Akkala Stableto tell her you’ve cleared the monsters. As a thank you, she’ll give you anEndura Carrotand two Pony Pointsbefore taking a very well-deserved rest.
