Shrinesare amongst many returning aspects of Tears of the Kingdom, giving you hundreds of different puzzles that you must solve with Link’s new abilities to earn powerful gear and upgrades that will help aid you in your journey to find Zelda.
How To Reach Oshozan-u Shrine
TheOshozan-u Shrineis found in thenorthernsection of theTabantha Tundraregion. You can see itnorth of the Snowfield Stableas itsits high atop an icy cliffsidein anisolated, snow-covered field.Due to where it’s located, you will need tocome preparedto reach this Shrine.
We recommendstocking up on Food or Elixirsthatresist the effects of Coldorwaitinguntil you obtainWarm Clothesfrom theRito Villageuntil you attempt to make your way to the Oshozan-u Shrine.
Reaching The Oshozan-u Shrine
Additionally, since this Shrine sits atop a high icy peak, you will need a method to get to it. We recommend bringing along aBundle of Wood, Flint, and a Hylian Pine Conefor this. You will alsoneedto have theGlider,which is granted to you via the Main Questline.
With these items in your possession, you will want toplace the Bundle of Wood and Flint beside each othernear the icy cliffside, thenstrike the Flint with a weapon made of Stone or Metalto create abonfire.
Next,toss a Hylian Pine Cone into the fireto create avast and powerful updraft,thenjump into the updraft and deploy your Gliderto take to the skies, allowing you toreach the Shrine.There are likely other methods to get up to the Shrine, but this is the one we found the most useful!
Oshozan-u Shrine (Mallet Smash) Walkthrough
Now that you’re in theOshozan-u Shrinelet’s go over how tosolve each puzzleso you can get your hand on theTreasure Chestand theLight of Blessing.Overall, this Shrine isn’t too complex; the most challenging aspect is merely getting to it successfully.
Oshozan-u Shrine First Puzzle Guide
As youfirst enter the Shrine,activate yourUltrahandability tosee everything you have to work within the starting room. You will seea Box on the far left wall, a Log, and a Rocket.You will also seea target you must hit with force in the distance,just north of the objects.
To solve this puzzle,grab the Rocket with your Ultrahandandattach it to the box on the wall;ensure theRocket’s tip is facing away from you,with the exhaust of it pointing toward you. Next,take the Log and attach it to the exposed side of the Rocket.
Then,give the Rocket a smack with a weapon to ignite it,launching everything toward the target. If done correctly,the Log you placed on the end will hit the target with tremendous force,opening the next area for you.
Oshozan-u Shrine Treasure Chest Guide
In thenext room,you will see aTreasure Chest to the left,sittingatop an elevated platformwith seemingly no way to reach it. However,survey the objectsyou have to work with via yourUltrahandto findtwoLogs:one small Log and a larger one.
Grab the larger Logwith your Ultrahand andbring it backover to where theTreasure Chestis. There will bea small gap on the elevated platform.Place the Log over it horizontallyto completelycover this gap.
With the Log in position, use yourAscendability topass through the Log and onto the platformwhere the Treasure Chest is.Crack the Chest opento obtain aZonite Bowwith anAttackpotency of30!
Oshozan-u Shrine Second Puzzle Guide
Staying in thesame room as the Treasure Chest,you will have yoursecond and final puzzleto solve in the Shrine. There will also bea rotating wheel next to a targetjust in front of the objects. Your goal will be todevise a contraption to hit the targetwith great force.
To do this,stick the small and larger Log together end-to-endwith theUltrahand,creating onelong Log.Then,attach the Rocket to either endof the now elongated Log.
From there,stick the Log to the wheelnext to the target with theRocket pointing downward,thensmack it as the wheel shifts and brings it toward you.When the Rocket ignites, thewheel will rotate clockwise,andyour Log/Rocket will hit the targetwith tremendous speed and force.
This willopen the final gatethat leads to the Shrine, so justhead on in and obtain your Light of Blessingto complete the Oshozan-u Shrine!
