Throughout your journey, you’ve probably come acrossGolden Applesat some point. These random drops are welcome in meals or as treats for your horsey companions, but they’re inconsistent to rely upon. That is, however, until you find the secret grove shrouded in the heart of Korok Forest. And it is these apples that will pave your way to a rich reward.
Navigating The Bog Of Mido Swamp
To begin this quest, you’llneed to haveentered Korok Forest and alleviated it of its Gloom Curse. Once done, you should be able toclimb the lit path to the right of the Deku Tree. It is a bit of a hill, and the lights are all what appear to be glowing pea pods.
At the end of it, you’ll see alarge green Crystal and a small Korok beside itwith a quest prompt.Speak with the Korokto learn that he requiresfiveGolden Apples. They grow at theheart of Mido Swampjust ahead.
If you have all five already, you may give him the apples straight away and take the Crystal (thereby skipping this entire quest).
Mido Swamp is crawling with several enemies. As you enter the fog of the swamp, you’llfirst be assaulted by two Fire Keese. These Keese willcatch the ground on firewherever they fly, so you’ll want totake them out quicklybefore they become too much of an issue.
Continue up the hill, and there will betwo trees withappleson them. They’reboth Evermeans, and they will attack you once you get close enough.Defeat them with an axeto take their apples. However, these aren’t the apples you need, socontinue forward.
Ahead will be a part of thepath that winds to the right by a large tree.Several Skeletal Bokoblins and a Skeletal Moblinwill attack you here.Defeat them and follow the path.
Your next enemy will be aShock Like.It restson a tree just beside a boggy area.As such, it’s recommended tokeep your distanceuntil you can use your arrow to shoot its weak point. When approaching, take care not to accidentally step into the bog.
Turn from the Shock Like andtake notice of the lit pea-pod lanterns. These will be your guides from now on. They will mark pieces of land on the bog ahead.
However, before you begin taking on the bog, watch the airas anElectric Wizzrobe will be dancing around above the bog.Take it out with a few good arrow shots.
The bog is precarious to cross. If you touch it, you’ll almost immediately be pulled under.Nevertheless, once you learn the secret, crossing will actually become far easier than it looks. Of course, you can alwaysuse your ownZonaitedevices in your inventory to fly over it, but there’sa far simpler solution: use the grinning trees.
Next to the bank of the bog and in large areas of land breaking up the islands aretrees with grinning mouths.Step into the mouthsof these trees anduse Ascendto reach their tops. From here, you canglide across the bogwith the need to only touch ground once or twice.Use the lanterns to guide your wayand be careful not to touch the bog.
Having Tulin will be super helpful here, allowing you to cross almost the entire bog without needing to take a break thanks to his special ability.
At the end of the way is an area withtwo trees filled with Golden Apples. Pick them. There are exactly five, so be careful not to lose any of them.If you knock any down and lose them(like if you accidentally Gust them away with Tulin), you’ll need towait two in-game daysfor them to respawn.
With all five Golden Apples in hand, you may either cross the bog backwards by retracing your steps orFast-Travel toMusanokir Shrine.Either way, return to the tiny Korok beside the Crystal.
Give the Korok all five Golden Apples, and he’ll allow you totake the Crystalnow. Examine it, and the green line will appear to lead your way.
Pick up the Crystal and follow the beam back into Mido Swampwhere it will lead you to itsplatform on the right of the first hill.Place it, and you can earn aMighty Zonaite Swordwith the Critical Hit attribute in addition to your Blessing.
