This quest, found far off Ard Skellig’s coast, has Geralt discover a shipwreck left by a man who was better with women than with ships. He had discovered where a notorious pirate had lost his treasure while bedding the criminal’s wife and made an ill-fated attempt to take it for himself. Where To Start Treasure Hunt: Ironsides' Treasure
This treasure hunt begins onan unmarked island southwest of the Grotto Fast Travel point.You’ll want to find a boat tosail to the island,unless you feel like an extended swim across siren-infested waters.
If youcan’t find a boat at Grotto,you can alwaysfind another one elsewhere and Fast Travel to Grottousing the boat, leaving you well-positioned to grab the treasure.
When you reach the island, look for acrashed boat on the rocks,beyond the coast. You’ll have toreach the boatto find askeleton with a letter regarding some sunken treasurenearby.
Getting The Treasure
The sunken chest isnearby, by a sunken wreck.Simply follow the quest marker into the sea andgo to the center of the search areato find the chest. It’ll be highlighted in red when you use Geralt’s Witcher Senses.
There is aflight of sirens in the sea.You’ll have to kill them before it’s safe enough to reach the chest. It’s best toshoot them with the crossbow underwater,where each bolt hits harder.
The quest ends immediately after youopen the chest,rewarding you with the contents within.
You’ll findGynvael Aeddin the chest. It is asilver sword that boosts Igni Sign Intensityand comes withthree rune slots.
