You get to take their things inThe Witcher 3,appropriating their treasure and equipment for your own ends.

The Treasure Hunt: Sunken Treasure, perfectly encapsulates this, with the short quest leading Geralt into the sea off the coast of Velen and into a shipwreck. With the ship’s lost treasures ripe for the taking, this guide will make sure you’ll leave with the riches.

Where To Start Treasure Hunt: Sunken Treasure

If you’re interested in the treasure, go toVelen’s west coast, north of the Hangman’s Alley Fast Travel point.From there, headnorthwest,and look for adead man laying on the coast.

If you havejust arrived in the area,you might encounter the questLynch Mobat the Fast Travel point. It’ll go away if you walk away and should becompleted immediatelywhen you arrive.

Search the man’s body fora Water-Damaged Letter,which will start the treasure hunt when read.

Finding The Treasure

The quest will guide youout into the sea,where you can find a treasure chest submerged by alarge seashell.While it’s not hard to find, it can be difficult to reachthanks to the drowners surrounding the chest.

You’ll have to carefullydispatch the drowners with your crossbow,which can be difficult at higher difficulties, when they swarm Geralt.

A good strategy would be tokeep a distance from the drownersand attempt to fight themone at a time,making the encounter more manageable.

If you need more time underwater, considerdrinking a Killer Whale potion,which will help Geralt hold his breath for longer periods of time.

Once the coast is clear, look for asunken rowboatwith Geralt’s Witcher Senses. Opening it will complete the quest, with itscontents being randomized.
