After one quick side quest, Clive can obtain a chocobo that he can then summon in any of the large open-world regions of Valisthea. This allows him to travel quite a bit faster, making things a bit easier in terms of avoiding monsters and sweeping up side quests.
How To Get A Chocobo
To acquire a chocobo, you will need to complete the questThe White-Winged Wonder. This is a quest that unlocksafter beating the main storyline quest ‘Release.‘This quest takes place shortly after a very obvious Point of No Return, which the game tells you about, so don’t worry about missing it.
To begin the quest, speak toRowan, a Traveling Traderin Martha’s Rest.
This quest involvestracking down and then saving a particular white chocobothat has been helping those who get attacked near Martha’s Rest. Head to the first quest destination to find a white chocobo feather, and then press on to the next one to find a pack of bandits harassing a small group of chocobos, including the white one in question.
The chocobo poachers are not too difficult to beat. If you haveFlames of Rebirthunlocked and equipped, it will make short work of them. Alternatively, take them out one by one, making sure youstart with the spellcastersin the back.
After beating the initial wave of poachers, aHuntsmanwill arrive, backed up by someHarrier Hounds. The Huntsman is a typical giant axe-wielding enemy, which you should be quite familiar with at this point.
Now that you have three Eikons, you should be able tochain many abilities together quite often. Use this to quickly partial-Stagger and then fully-Stagger elite enemies in short bursts. This strategy simplifies regular battles to a significant amount.
After eliminating the enemies, a cutscene will play out in which Clive will reunite with his old chocobo. In addition to the ability to ride Ambrosia, you’ll acquire250 experience, 20 renown, Ambrosia’s Tack, and 60 Sharp Fangs.
Ambrosia’s Tackis a trophy and will be displayed in Clive’s bedroom at the Hideaway.
