Customizing Your Character
You canchange your appearancein The Outlast Trials again byheading to your cell block. After the tutorial, you will be placed in a lobby full of other players. This prison block is the main lobby you will get thrown into with other random players. There is a dedicated cell for each person.
If you have wandered off and can’t remember which room is yours, there will be a waypoint in the world to lead you to your room.
There is a bed waypoint and two other waypoints for the engineer and pharmacist.Your username will be above your cell room.
There is a sink in your cell.Interact with the mirrorabove it to accesscharacter customization. In this menu, you can change your race, hair, and voice all over again.
Some other customization options were not available at the start of the game. You can now change your outfit, player icon, and gear appearance.
There are some presets, like different shades of shirts or goggles, but anything else must be unlocked and purchased.
Icons and new tops or bottoms are unlocked by leveling up and completing challenging trials.
Once new items are unlocked in the character customization menu, you must purchase them to equip.
Purchasing More Options
Some items in the character customization menu will cost 100 coins. Special items like a unique shirt can be as high as 500 coins. You will also find “outfits” that cost 10,000 coins in this menu.
Leveling up and completing trials rewards you with 1,000 coins each time, so you can save up pretty quickly if you enjoy playing the game.
New and unlocked character customization options will cost regular currency. These will be the yellow coins you see next to your name at the top right of the screen. You can earn money by completing trials and leveling up.
Reborn Outfits
You might have noticed these really cool outfits in the Appearance customization menu that are locked. These cannot be accessed until you become Reborn. Becoming Reborn takes a lot of hard work. You have to basicallybeat the gamecompletely in order to do so.
This meanscompleting every challenge within every Program, including Program X. Only after reaching the final mission and becoming a new character will you be able to unlock these outfits and display them for everyone.
Customizing Your Cell
You have probably noticed by now that other people’s cell rooms look way cooler than yours. To change that, head to your cell andinteract with your bedto begin customizing the interior of your cell.
There will be wallpaper options, floor options, bedding colors, and objects to place on your dresser.
Everything in the interior customization menu will cost money.Just as with character customization; you will be able to unlock new items, such as new wallpapers and posters, as you level up and play through the game.
The items in your cell customization menu that are readily available and do not need unlocking willcost 100 coins each.Completing a trial or leveling upwill yield plenty of money for customizations.
It is worth noting that upon completing an entire Program, you will get special rewards relating to that Program. For instance, by completing every single challenge and trial withinProgram 1 Police Station, you will get a Police Station statue for decoration and a Leland Coyle poster.
Likewise,by completing every Program and becoming Reborn, you will get Golden decor items.
There is no added benefit to customizing your character or cell other than to create individualism and to stand out in a crowd. The regular currencyis only used for customizing, so you may spend it however you desire.
